Won't make it back until probably 12ish tomorrow. Decided to run out to the Magic Kingdom for a little Disney day trip. No luck on the haunted mansion pops...completely sold out all they had there. Just leaving the Park now :-P

things usually go on sale while i am sleeping. if anyone can help out a funatic that has missed out on every disney hikari he has wanted, i would probably love that person beyond words, that is all i am saying lol

I guess being Disney (and Mickey Mouse) makes all the difference to demand. I admit I didnt start collecting Hikari myself until these new Disney ones appeared

Same here SPiff! These new Disney ones are too awesome looking! Also, I was not a Disney/Mickey collector before and now I've been collecting Mickey pops as well

The Disney Hikari were what convinced me to start too. I'm going after some of the robot, alien, and skull-like (Sheriff, etc.) Hikari next.

Maybe the main issue with Hikari were the long runs. lately the runs have gotten smaller. But I would certainly pass on a 2000 run vs a 250 run.

Just out of curiosity, why so? I personally collect the designs/color-ways I dig and not based on the edition size. I find to curious that someone would buy solely based on the smaller edition run and not the visual connection.

I can understand having the option to own something with a smaller run, but like Shawn said, I enjoy the colorways rather than the edition number

Because if they dont buy it, they might not get the chance later to own it as the run is very limited. And then comes the aftermarket price for the piece that they would have to pay if the passed when it came out retail. Like I can wait on the 1000+ run but I feel urgency to buy the 200-500 because I don't want to miss them and then pay $$$ for them.

See, that makes sense to me. I've met collectors before when I had my stores that only wanted a chase piece, or uber low # of an LE run, or other things that where not based on an emotional connection to to piece but only a sense to own something that is hard to find. I always found it to be an odd obsession to say the least. Prioritizing the purchase based on availability makes far more sense to me. Fortunately up until the last few weeks that was not really an issue with HIkari...

Yeah since I missed gold glitter Mickey I bought pewter buzz light year in hopes I can do a trade. I would like to be a complete collector on these as they look cool, but I can't wrap my head around the vintage aka Fallout Mickey.

And I got a feeling that since these are sold out, Funko might try to make Hikari's low runs to move them from shelves.

Sweet! I've been somewhat obsessively refreshing the Boxlunch website. I kind of wish I knew when it was going to go live, but then again, if they announce it there's a greater chance of flippers swooping in. There's no chance of me finding this in the wild so its my only shot
