When you're bidding on these pieces from Chinese sellers, don't spend a lot of money on them. 40 bucks ought to be the ceiling on these. By that standard, you did alright.

All that matters is that you enjoy it.

That price is about right. It's crazy to go back to the first few batches of these scrap pieces. They sold from 100 to 175 to 200 to over 400. Man that is insane!

If it's not a good piece, maybe I can use it as, oh, something. Is there a market for proto pieces, for real, non faking purposes? Or maybe I can get into customs, lol. \:D/

And worse case, I learned something today. ](*,)

Wow... I paid less than that for the real deal...

My glitter TMNT are stamped but it's the same font and look as the "3000" on the card.
Truth is singular. Its versions are mistruths.

Just got my first two today, a clear glitter Optimus (X/3000) and a Havoc Skeletor (X/2000) and both were stamped cards. Pretty disappointed if I'm honest.

I was also under the impression that the Hikari themselves were numbered (under the foot make most sense to me). I can't see anywhere that the figure is numbered, just the seperate card. Is this right or am I missing something?

Only the card is numbered. Every single Hikari is like this. Does the idea of a Chinese factory worker slaving away while signing each and every card make you appreciate the figure more? lol

No need to be a d!ck about it.

I don't think I'm asking too much that when I buy an item advertised as 'limited' and HAND NUMBERED, that the actual ITEM be unique and numbered. its false advertising, no matter how you see it.

You can twist it and tell me the card was hand stamped or whatever, but that's the same as saying something is 'hand made' when all the hand did was turn on the machine.

I respectfully stand by what I said.

I politely asked a simple question and it was implied that I get my jollies from the thought of Sweatshop workers slaving away to make me happy. Absolutely not the case.

My sarcastic response was meant to be humorous, hence the " lol ". Sorry if you took it the wrong way. Next time I'll try to be more sensitive to your posts. ;-)

What's the lowest number someone has gotten on the cards? Anyone get a "1"? My glitter Groot was 1151/1500 but my life force Metalina Mutant was 2/1500. So close.

The only way someone could get the 1/X is if they win a piece from Hikari Friday. Then there's the Artist Proof pieces.

I think someone sitting there hand-stamping the card- could still be considered "hand numbered"

It doesn't say hand-written numbers after all.

As for the Chinese auctions- they are often the same factories that make the Funko ponies. Chinese factories are notorious for running off an extra 100 or so to sell on the Chinese market (and more commonly on ebay). They aren't stupid- and have realized that people are paying a lot for blank white, glitter funkos- so easy enough for them to print those. They are not official, licensed or sanctioned by Funko, obviously. They seem to be getting more and more common. I think it's a shame personally because it makes spotting real prototypes more challenging.

Hand numbering is rough. I hand numbered a run a few years ago of 1000 pieces, and it took me 5 hours to do...

yikes- I know I sure wouldn't want to do it.

But at least they are actually individually numbered right? So it will still be like 235/1000, and not actually x/1000 right?

Years ago when I worked for Disney World I helped out with setting up for hand signing & numbering L.E. run products for Disneyana Conventions. We literally set up in a warehouse with tons of folding tables set up in squares, took cases off of pallets, opened statues, put them on the tables in rows and then followed the artists and put statues back in the boxes after the artists signed/#'ed them. It was a bit on the crazy tedious side and took far more manpower than one would think.
