Have any Dorbz completists made it this far?

Postby treswright » Wed Aug 31, 2016 12:45 pm

We had a thread going earlier this year in which there were several Funatics that had a complete collection of Dorbz. Then ECCC came along and I remember a few people saying they were thinking of giving up because some of the exclusives were very limited. Then of course we had SDCC, and in particular the limited gold Captain America that was apparently only distributed to Funko VIPs and is rumored to be a 1/100. So how about it, has anyone stuck it out and maintained a complete collection through ECCC and SDCC?

And if so, let me say you have my undying respect and admiration :-)

Would love to see a photo of a complete set. I'm slowly trying, but I know it'll never happen :(

How can anybody keep up with it? With cons and exclusives around every corner, I would never even try. :) I also don't have enough space for multiple Megas and ridez.

Luckily dorbz aren't as common place as POPs, so most of the dorbz are relatively affordable in comparison. ECCC Freddy Dorbz is roughly $180 ppg, which is pretty decent considering the edition size and how much the POPs from SDCC are going for this year. Crusader dorbz are $45... not bad for a two pack con exclusive.

The XLs and Gold Cap are easily the hardest to obtain.

I'm still considering being a completist of individual Dorbz that are sold (no Fundays stuff or Ridez). Only missing an ECCC Freddy and the b&w Crusaders I think. Once you get caught up it's easier to stay on top of. Of course it helps I rarely get other toys. Everything is in storage otherwise I'd post a picture.

Yeah, at least for now the prices of the HTF ones are well under the price for an equivalent production number edition of a Pop. It's actually possible to be a Dorbz completist without selling your soul, the same could not be said for being a Pop completist lol

And the megas too! If you're going to be complete then might as well go all-in lol

Man I'm not even complete on one line!!! I have most of the Marvel Dorbz, but other lines I'm only getting ones that really appeal to me.... I think I have about 125 total so far with a few on order

All the Huckleberry Hounds can make this difficult.
Dorbz - 186 (counting each multi dorbz box as 1)
Pop - 21
Mystery Minis - 73
Rock Candy - 4
Hikari - 1

Yeah if i was looking to be line complete, I'd totally splurge on the XLs and then not buy anything for the rest of the year haha.

I don't think I could ever be Dorbz complete. There are just some that are too far above my price range. I would like to be Disney Dorbz complete. That is my Dorbz goal. I wanted to Cap Dorbz complete, but the amazing Gold Cap messed foiled my plan.

It would be amazing to see a complete Dorbz collection though.

Yeah I'm steeling myself for the Ridez expenditure! Gotta keep the Ridez collection complete, which frankly hasn't been a chore because I've loved every one of them. Brian says there are 4 for NYCC, and I'd lay money they're all numbered LE's (I have a hunch the two H-B's will be the other Splits, here's hoping!) My poor, aching wallet.

And I wouldn't even know where to begin for those gold caps. They're probably sitting in the closets or trash cans of some exec's.

I am still striving to be complete on Dorbz but it's a process for sure, though one I enjoy. Right now I am short one piece, the Freddy Dorbz XL 1/24. Thought I was close to getting a couple, but ever since that one sold on eBay for $1,200 it has taken it out of my range.

I'm treating the Gold Captain America like the 1/10 Dead Presidents x MvsR repaints...customs. Very cool and would love to add to my collection, but not counting on it. Of course, if by some miracle I somehow obtain a Gold Cap Dorbz I will completely alter my stance and do a total 180.

I'd love to see pictures of a complete Dorbz set while you can still fit it in one picture...even if it's missing one or two pieces it would look pretty cool.

I just started collecting Dorbz so I'm way behind the curve. I'm up to about 20 Dorbz

SDCC messed up my collection being complete but I've decided to not count FunDays so I don't feel bad about it. I am only missing Vanelope Ridez and the GS Harley in gown as far as everything else besides FunDays. Being patient on those two, the prices are slowly dropping on the bay. I'll eventually get the XL and other Hucks but that's way down the line. Have just under 300 total now, they won't fit into one pic.

It'll be really tough to keep up with Dorbz if Funko decides to ramp up and produce a ton of different ones. But like others said earlier just the Mega Dorbz from Fundays makes it a tough task to complete the entire line. I still want all 3 deadpools but that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
