No sign of him in the LA Area either, although here things tend to get swiped up fast.

At this rate, I don't think it will have a widespread release until next Halloween.

I'll definitely come back and mention where I see him, if I ever do. Calling is no use as they usually can't even figure out what 'Dorbz' means.

.... this is how the "dorbz" conversation usually goes over the phone. (and sometimes in person)

Me: They're made by funko, and they're like the Funko pops, but smaller. They're called Dorbz.
Them: Dobs?
Me: no... DOORRBBZZZ. ZZZZ Dorbz.
Them: Spell it.
Me: D. O. R. B. Z.
Them: Okay.. so what are they again?
Me: They're like Funko Pops, but smaller versions.
Them: So they're minis.
Me: Not really, but they are miniature versions of pops, just shaped a little different.
Them: So they're not minis?
Me: No, they're Dorbz... small versions of pops.
Them: Ohhh.. .ya... let me go check.
(gone 5 minutes)
Them: Ok... found em... no. we don't have that one.
Me: Oh.. thanks for checking.. what DO you have?
Them: I don't know.. they're in polybags. So I can't see whats inside.
Me: ohhh... noo... not those... those are different. I'm looking for ones in Boxes.
Them: Oh.. ok... hold on.
(gone 5 minutes)
Them: Nope. No bat ones in those either. ... that i can tell anyway.
Me: That you can tell?
Them: Ya, well... they're in blind boxes. like you said. boxes... so I can't tell whats inside.
Me: nooo.. sorry, wrong again... these are ALSO from funko, but have a window in the front, just like the pops... but smaller.
(long pause)
Me: hello?
Them: "Click."
-They call me... Wes (AKA ScrappyMosier on Twitter & Vinyl4Blood on IG)
"OMG.. I need that"

My BN did get some "new" Dorbz. And by new I mean series 1 of Batman, Marvel and Ghostbusters. Seriously? Why even bother getting these now? And had the same two bikini orc-chicks sitting on the shelf.

I think the key to getting these in a store is to empty their old stock of exclusives. That has to be the explanation as to why they're so rare.

Can someone who has this post the UPC/SKU for this? I want to look it up at work but my searches for "dorbz batman" and "mummy batman" aren't returning anything. If I have the number I can maybe get more information for it. Thanks in advance!

I had a really exhausting chat and phone conversation with B&N people about this yesterday and I think they just wait until people are tired of them not answering with any actual information and hang up.

Not to make excuses because there are people like that out there, I've met some, but our system in store is kind of tricky. The best way is usually to have the ISBN for a book or UPC to go directly to an item. Sometimes a general search will return 100+ results or nothing at all so it's really hit or miss. Which is why I've had a hard time pinning this down. I am sorry your local booksellers aren't more helpful though. :( Hopefully I can see if there's a warehouse count on these with this number (and if my store will be getting any at all sometime soon)

I completely appreciate that. I think it is a symptom of stores in general, the people who have a ton of product knowledge for what they ring up tend to be few and far between, and in the case of collectibles, I think it'd be very worth it for places like B&N to have someone dedicated to maintaining that area of the store and communicating with customers.

Thanks, and happy hunting!

It is, unfortunately. And I try very hard in my store to remain knowledgable on Funko Products at least. I'm working on the other collectables my store has, but the Funko ones are the most popular right now. It's one of the main reasons I made the decision to join the forums, to learn about new stuff and learn from y'all's stories about interactions at other BN's. Thanks! You too!

And sorry to hijack the thread! lol

So I looked it up and there's nothing in the warehouses right now. My store doesn't have any on order either but I'm going to try and keep an eye on it.

If you have a bookseller look it up, give them the UPC. It won't show up otherwise.

I was luck enough to finally get one.
I literally had my whole family in on it.
My brother who lives in Boise, Idaho was able to
Get one at his Barnes and noble.

How is it bad for everyone if they re-release him? That just means that those of us who weren't near the "select stores" will be able to get him. From the announcement, I took it to mean that they would only be in the select stores from October to November with an assumed larger rollout later.

I didn't get any good news at B&N today. The very helpful Customer Service lady showed me the 'Out of Stock' for the entire country.

She doesn't think they will come back in, and knows her store never got them at all.

She did say that in the future if I know a release date, and come into the store, they can order it in for me, but it has to be while some other store at least has it in stock.

I asked on Twitter and no response unfortunately. It's curious, the announcement made it sound like it'd be widely released in November and we're almost halfway through the month now.

Maybe Black Friday?
