Space Clones

Postby post31 » Thu Jun 29, 2017 2:11 pm

I came across the hashtag space clones #spaceclones on Instagram and all I can say is I want one. Does anyone have any info on this though I guess I can wait patiently until more info comes out (no I can't tell me more) hehehehe

Huh, interesting! This must be similar to the Captain America thing from last year where they sent out white Mega Dorbz for artists to work on, then auctioned them off for charity. There was also a color version available at the Pop Up Shop. Hmmmmm. Apparently this guy is smaller at 9", but I still want one :D

Only 9"? I was hoping for another 18" monster so I'd have a chance at some Mega Dorbz.

Well me too since I -only- have two Mega Dorbz :-) But this size makes more sense given all the QC issues they had with the 18" ones, plus if there is a production version they plan on giving away at Fundays (like they originally planned last year) then the smaller size would definitely be easier for us to transport home!

Since he's apparently not (unless there's another Pop Up Shop wave coming) I have a sneaking suspicion he'll make a big showing at Fundays. Here's hoping! :freddy2:

I was waiting for this to be posted. I've seen a black and white one that's rather nice and I too had hoped to be able to buy one. I wonder how they choose artist, would love to design one for auction next year.

The sculpt on this in Dorbz form is just outstanding. Can't wait to see what the artists come up with.

Hoping they also release some color variants to the public as well.

This would be awesome if this was the surprise wave they were talking about. I really hope it's a Funko Shop exclusive and not Fundays since I wasn't able to get tickets. If it is, I guarantee that I'll be camping out.

That's exactly how I feel. I didn't get fundays tickets which just about killed me, though I'll be camping either way because I need that Big Gruesome.

Not gonna lie, me and my gf got a little depressed that we didn't get Funday tickets either. There's always next year if we don't get off the waitlist. I'd prefer to camp out for the shop over SDCC just because there's more Pops there that I want versus the con, plus most are shared, so I'm hoping I can get the shared ones outside of the con.

I was hoping that if it was a auction it would be sometime after SDCC so I'm not so financially drained but I'll make it work.

Ha! Yeah, but in this case I get the impression they are encouraged to post about their progress because they all put the same hashtags on their posts. I don't think it's meant to be kept a secret. The Capt. America event last year wasn't either.

I kind of had the same feeling because of the unified hashtag. Plus it's the Funko way to make us feel like detectives when it comes to some of the cooler stuff.
