I sort of thought the same thing but it will be a good way to draw interest in specialty series. So far a lot of the specialty series has been used to make characters that might never have been made otherwise. Doing a big license like this will draw people in for the Rick and Morty factor and hopefully expose a bunch of new people to the specialty series.

It’s also good that funko has the master license on R&M..I think that means they’re generally free to do what they want with it haha

I love Rick and Morty but those look so unlike the characters that they are an easy pass for me. However...

In the cop episode Morty is fat, if you look at the pic above I think they were trying to mimic the chubby lines on his face. I do agree with you though, it makes him look old on the Dorbz rather than chubby.

Good point. They couldve done without the lines... not sure it really added anything.

Good point. They couldve done without the lines... not sure it really added anything.

To be fair to the artist, that Morty is supposed to be both old and chubby. It's not the C-137 Morty but rather one of many Mortys so he's not technically the same age. I think they did a great job on these Dorbz. Can't wait to pick them up.
