Retro Video Game Mystery Minis

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

I.E.... the Pacman box actually has Pacman etc.

I believe that was confirmed at Toy Fair.

Unfortunately this will probably be the case. But if routine follows the least popular boxes will be the ones I want most!

Galaga was in the promo glam shots, and they showed a completed mini....but its not in the case. Exclusive, do you think, or something that got dropped?

Yep, this is what I was afraid of.

There's no crappier feeling than finding a case or shelf full of only one sort of toy in an aisle. One of the things I like about blind boxes is that, unless tampered with, they give you a fairer shot at getting certain figures.

Love the little arcade cabinet boxes! My case arrived today, stoked to check them out when I get home.

Now if we just knew if Galaga is a store exclusive or just scrapped...

MIA. No longer on the main assortment. Retailer exclusive maybe? I have not heard of anyone asking at Toy Fair what happened to that one.

Speaking of exclusives... How long until they announce retailer exclusives (if any)? This seems like it would be a shoo-in for a Gamestop exclusive.

Dang, was quite excited about this one. I'm still hopeful, because they actually made and painted one for the glam shot. They couldn't do that without a license, even without the intent to sell to the public. I'm pretty confident we'll get some exclusives. :D

So the layout listed above is different from the case I received yesterday. That being said, a layout is not really needed at all. Every display box matches the character inside. Mega Man will be in the Mega man game cabinet, Frogger in the Frogger game cabinet. However the games that have multiple characters will need a layout if you only want one certain character.

Something I did not notice before....the character choices for each game are based on the artwork on the side of the game cabinet. The DigDug cabinet shows the hero, the dragon, and the bomb guy....those were the characters that were made. The Pac-Man cabinet shows Pac-man & a ghost, the Ms. Pac-man cabinet shows Ms. Pac-man and a ghost....those were the characters that were made. Even down to some of the sculpt choices...the Centipede cabinet shows the centipede wrapping around the mushrooms and the sculpt is of the Centipede in the same wrapped position.
Funko really killed it on this set! The little details for these are simply amazing!! I cannot say it enough....we need another wave.

Just got my case in the mail and can't express enough just how cool these are. I've been putting together a retro game shelf recently and these fit in perfectly.

Still hoping for some word on exclusives.

Correct
I actually haven't seen these anywhere in the wild yet.
I am also curious about the Galaga ship from the initial reveal. Not in the regular case and no word on any exclusives.

That is interesting that the layout's are different. I wonder if since they are matching character to boxes and giving us a huge head start on whats inside that maybe they are randomizing the mix to avoid folks cherry picking all the Pac-man/Mrs. Pac-Mans...

Not real sure, but you can't get a Pac without a Ghost ;-)

Need to get a second one of these displays, but thought this could be adjusted to display the Retro Arcade series (I've been using it for 8-bit World of Nintendo figures so far).
