Star Wars Mystery Minis?

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Star Wars Mystery Minis?

Postby popfanboy » Fri Nov 13, 2015 8:06 am

I'm sure this has been asked about before and LOTS of people want these. I'm surprised their hasn't been any Star Wars minis. There could be at least 3 series of them and there are so many characters to choose from. The only down side I could see for them is that they would have to be bobble-heads. I would love a BB-8 mini and a heavy Wampa mini.

I've been wanting this set, too.

I'd like for them to start with Episode VII, mostly so it can promote the movie.

Maybe presumptuous, but I think the movie will draw enough attention without even more products.

I would welcome Star Wars Mystery Minis, but I'm not sure it will happen at least not really soon - but if they do start them I think there could be many more than 3 series easily

The original Marvel MM were bobbleheads I believe so it could work but I'm sure there is some sort of licensing snafu in there somewhere...

No one would love Star Wars MM's more than me, but I'm afraid I wouldn't bother if they were bobble heads…they lack detail. If on the other had they were made along the same lines as the Horror, Sci-Fi or Walkng Dead they'd be amazing. I'm a Marvel fan, but the new DC Arkham figs look amazing, MM's are just getting better every new release.
If you have/know of any Mystery Mini Protos for sale please PM me. Thanks!

I think a lot of people would stay away since they would have to be bobble heads.

I think I would still buy them if they were bobble heads but I would much rather them be in the style of Sci-fi & Horror. I would settle for the style of the WWE minis as well.

Bobble = NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I bought a couple of Marvel MMs without realizing they were bobbles. Hated them from the second I opened them. Bobbles just do not translate well into MMs in my opinion.

Star Wars Mystery Minis would be awesome. I don't know the licensing constraints, but these would sell really well. Funko has other Disney Mystery minis, so I would think licensing would not be a barrier.

I've read this sentiment before. Is it an assumption based on something? Are there licensing dictates I'm not aware of? I'm just curious. I just started collecting a couple of months ago. Thanks for any clarification.

What licensing issue?

And wouldn't they be able to bypass it anyway by making them bobbles?

What a bummer, I had really hoped there would be a Star Wars run for mystery minis. Anyone care to explain why the licensing conflicts with the minis? Surely it be because of size, micro machines makes star wars related toys.

This is a line that baffles me, why they were not (have not yet been) made.

I understand the dislike of Bobbleheads (I'm one of those people), but it would still be a "gotta have it" line.

I truly thought that with the release of Ep7, it was a certainty

Seconded!!! So incredibly excited! Yeah it kind of stinks that they will (almost assuredly) have to be bobble head. I'm wondering about the rarity. Will these all be 1/12 like Marvel (not sure about the other Disney minis) or have rarer ones? And who will be in the first set?!

Assuming there's 12 at a rarity of 1/12 I'd like to see;

Han
Luke
Leia
Vader
Obi-Wan
Yoda
Chewbacca
C-3P0
R2-D2
Rey
Finn
BB-8

Maybe some variants for store exclusives like Kylo Ren, Anakin, Darth Maul, stormtrooper, Captain Phasma, etc.

Heck I don't even care who's in the first series, I'm getting them all!!!
