Star Wars Mystery Minis

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Star Wars Mystery Minis

Postby Uofwturtle » Thu Jun 30, 2016 8:29 am

Since Funko owns the license for Star Wars, why haven't they produced Star Wars mystery minis? There could be a series for each movie. The possibilities are endless and it would more than likely be the most popular series ever.

It comes up from time to time, it usually ends with something about how they don't have the liscence. I know all the mini/Star Wars fans would love it.

If they don't have the license, how do they produce the Pop Star Wars Figures?

Because the Pops are Bobbleheads. Thats the only way Pops get made.

Star Wars Minis would be a big hit, so I imagine it's the legal & licensing end inhibiting this rather than lack of will on Funko's part. Given that the Pops have to have the branded stands and bobbleheads, figuring out a way to legally do the minis is likely even more challenging.

Hasbro holds all rights to producing Star Wars figures. Funko has to make the POPs bobbleheads to show that they are not action figures.
Hasbro produced Mighty Muggs of Star Wars and a division of Hasbro produces mini figures and playsets.
They could follow the Marvel minis and make the minis bobbleheads as well, but that would be the only way to get them that I see

They have Marvel Mystery Minis, which are bobbles. So I doubt this is the reason....

Thanks for clearing that up guys, I knew it was a liscence issue but wasn't sure the specifications. Last year at Fundays Brian talked about the new sub boxes and lines that came along between then and now so in a few weeks we might hear about these.

If we were going to get these, they would've done a minis set during the Ep VII promotional stage. At this point, I don't think they're going to make them.

Because the mini-bobbles stink? I don't know. I love the mini lines. I have the BvS and the Suicide Squad ones. And they are great. I also have a bunch of the Civil War ones. And they are just not that nice. They are smaller, flimsier, and not great quality. I would love Star Wars minis, but if they are like the Civil War ones, I would rather have none than have something like that.

To be honest, I agree. The mini bobble heads aren't nearly as cool as the vinyl figures. My kids love these things.

If they ever released a mini bobble head series like Marvel I would be in trouble haha. Not a huge fan of the bobbles though probably why I have stayed away from the Marvel ones, but Star Wars would be a must have regardless.

I've been waiting for SW mini's ever since Funko started them. At this point it's wishful thinking. There's obviously some kind of legal thing going on as to what they can't expand into this line, even dorbz.

I was thinking earlier about the Star Wars pop bobblehead situation. I'm strictly inbox, can anyone confirm that IG-88 is actually a bobblehead? Surely he must be, it just seems rather awkward.

I know I'm late to the party but I couldn't agree more with this sentiment. The Civil War line isn't my favorite and if they were to do star wars minis I would much rather have them be like the DC ones. Too bad though. They could do 20 series on star wars and no one would even be mad.
