Classic Spider-Man Mystery Minis (Christmas day 3)

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Classic Spider-Man Mystery Minis (Christmas day 3)

Postby Mr Yac » Mon Dec 12, 2016 8:38 pm

this is the first announcement to get me actually excited. really need some more comic styled stuff out of funko, and Spidey has some really awesome supporting characters. so who are you folks hoping (or expecting) to see? my guess would be

Spidey (duh)
Black-Suit Spidey
Venom
Carnage
Green Goblin
Hob Goblin
Mary Jane
Black Cat
Doppelganger (not a chance in hell, but a man can dream)
Vulture
Rhino
Doctor Octopus
Spider-Ham

possibly can see Spidey/Black being a variant and not taking a full slot, same with Gobby and Hobbs.

I like the list you've got there. That would satisfy me. Spider-Ham is my top want for sure.

the sad part is that if we ever did get Ham the odds of getting even a single other character from his universe are probably a firm 0.00% and man what I would do for a Hob-Gobbler figure lol

I'd like Spider-Woman and Silk to make an appearance. And I feel like Spider-Gwen's a given with how much she's popped up lately in other product lines.

I really like that list though, and would be perfectly content with it. But hopefully it's not just a bunch of his costumes like the GS Batman one.

Spider-Woman wouldn't be a bad addition, I hope no Gwen though. this line is "classics" after all.

Ah, you're right. I forgot the classics part. lol I think Spider-Woman's been around long enough, but my history with the Spiderverse can get foggy.

yeah, SW has a long history with Spidey. plus there's already more Gwen merch then 90% of the Marvel Universe and she's what 5 years old?

Yeah, I love her, but I'm a little bitter that Jessica gets no love when it comes to merch. I think this line is going to end up being a lot of villains though and I'm happy with that.

yeah, Spidey has such an iconic Rogues Gallery i'll be really disappointed if they don't make up the majority of the line.

All these would be great but we've got to get a Hobgoblin! That may be a store exclusive variant like the pint sized heroes. In fact let's make Demogoblin a variant in another store as well!

In an ideal world I would also love:
Puma
Kraven
Kingpin
Hydro man
Beetle
Boomerang
Speed Demon
J. Jonah Jameson.

If we're really going for it the Stegron the Dinosaur Man would be amazing as well - dream on me!

A lot of great lists but we need to remember the biggest part of the announcement....CLASSIC

I would have to think more of older characters and older designs. Maybe newer designs of older characters but most of the last 10 years or so of the Spider-Man universe will be left out.

I'd love some of those mentioned above - J. Jonah Jameson, Kraven, and Electro. Tbh, I'll be happy regardless of who they have.

Gotta have Kraven the Hunter. He's my number one want. J. Jonah Jameson would be cool. Doctor Octopus. Mysterio.

Spider-Man
Peter Parker
Aunt May
J. Jonah Jameson
Gwen Stacy
Harry Osborne
Doctor Octopus
Kraven the Hunter
The Lizard
Mysterio
Electro
Rhino
Vulture
Black Cat
Sandman
Venom
Carnage
Hobgoblin...

Lots of good choices here. The question is, which will be the inevitable exclusives?

There's a lot I would love to see, but I can't help but think that series 1 will stick fairly close to the characters we got in the Spidey PSH set. Basically, all of the PSH choices would work for Classic(aside from Spider Gwen). But hey, this is the fun of speculating about this stuff!!!

And that's what bums me out. I'm a Spidey fan from way back, so these are right up my alley, but I just don't particularly like the bobblehead style. I may still get a couple just for the heck of it, but I doubt I'll get the full set.

Dr octopus
Rhino
Kraven
Lizard
Mysterio
Black suit Spider-Man
And then maybe electro or shocker

Excited about these. Hope we morbius - definitely going to have the vulture being he's in homecoming and he was in the first comic.

Yeah, I feel similarly about the bobblehead MMs. Spidey is probably my favorite Marvel character (if not my favorite comic character overall), so I def have a strong pull to get the full set, but I'll likely just grab one or two. I ended up doing the same with their X-Men set - only got Psylocke since she's my favorite of the characters that they released.

Oh well - at least I've got the PSHs!
