Yeah, the "if you can find that many" is the big part for me. I have 2 Hot Topics within reasonable driving distance, and they usually only get 1 or 2 cases at a time. There's one more HT about 45 minutes away, but they are also only stock 1 or 2. Even if I was the only person who collected in my city, I would maybe get access to 6 cases on a good day.

After the 1/6s and 1/12s thats only 3 boxes to get 4 1/24s, 2 1/36 and 2 1/72 talk about crazy ](*,)

At least with B&N you get multiple deliveries and chances. Hot topic may restock once. ANother set I probably wont complete cause im not paying over $100 for one of these tiny things.

And Hot Topic just supposedly sent a new memo saying no scales.

So far it sounds like people have had luck weighing and returning duds, but I wouldn't be surprised if they make them final sale at a certain point, if people do it too often.

That's good. Take my scale from me and I'll quit mystery mini's and just stick to pops.

Right now its bad enough trying to finish the two Star Wars sets even with a scale. I already had to buy the HT Darth Vader on eBay, and I'm 40+ minis into Walmart now without a Holo Obi.

I'll just use it anyway, I have about 8 Obi Wans as well. HT already marks up pricing on everything. Hopefully they stick to layouts and make it fair for everyone.

Some members on a mystery mini group on fb have confirmed hot topics are getting them. Not sure where. In my experience west coast gets them first and my area in Texans gets them about a week or two after.

Can confirm the east coast seems to be getting these first. My HT got them today. The ratios are brutal. But the sculpts are amazing.

I picked some of these up from a small local collectible shop. They really do loo amazing. The details are fantastic. No 1/72 luck but I did get a Sauron, Merry and Pippin!

The ratios might not be too bad, and possibly a bit deceiving. Seems to be similar to horror layout with certain figures rotating in certain spots.

I haven't either. This is based on per box ratios, and has proven correct for Disney afternoon, once we get some sort of layout I will test my theory.

I bought a sealed case from HT yesterday (in Kentucky). Unfortunately I didn't get any of the HT exclusives in it. I did do a layout:

With the front end of the case facing you:

Top layer:
Front right corner: Galadriel 1/36
Right middle: Sam 1/6
Back right corner: Boromir 1/12
Front left corner: Gollum 1/24
Left middle: Sam 1/6
Back left corner: Aragorn 1/12

Bottom layer:
Front right corner: Saruman 1/24
Right middle: Legolas 1/12
Back right corner: Gimli 1/12
Front left corner: Frodo 1/6
Middle left: Frodo 1/6

Yeah, the ratios on this case between the exclusives and the 1/6s are going to make it a pain to complete. It's one of the few mystery mini sets I'd really love to complete, but I don't have my hopes up. The secondary market prices for the 1/72 exclusives will be way beyond what I want to pay.

Well, i stopped at my regular HT and picked up the case they hadn't put out yet... turns out it was the exact same mix as what I pulled from earlier today. Same 1/24s, plus Galadriel as the Chase spot. Off to a "bad" start.

I got a full case and the 5 that were left in a 2nd case at one of my local HTs (Long Island, NY) ... pulled only ONE exclusive, Witch-King. Super happy about that but those 1/72s are really gonna hurt. Otherwise, got a complete Fellowship & Gollum, 1 extra Aragorn, 3 extra Sam and 4 extra Frodo.

11 down, 10 to go ...

My GF & I got these today at Box Lunch with the Buy 2 get 1 Free. The 6th was another Frodo.

Hoping these boxes come around more often cause I didn't see any other cases and have only seen these once.

Ugh, 1/6s, so sucky... Looks like there are going to be a fair amount of Galadriels floating around as I've only really seen layouts with her in it and not many others... The other ones I've seen had a Witch King in the TFR spot and a Pippen (?) in the Gollum spot, so at least it looks like there will be SOME chance of a HT layout happening with both Merry and Pippen together, which would be cool...

I'm not a huge LOTR unt (compared to other fields) but am I correct in assuming that going from the 1/24s on the back of the box, it's Merry on the left with the more cheeky look and Pippen on the right?

Bought a case at my local HT in North NJ and got every single minis as the example layout post on this page. Pretty disappointed. You guessed it, no exclusives. That's crazy to me, not happy about these shenanigans. If they're gonna have 1/6 ratio minis they gotta have more exclusives at least.
