I collect Mystery Minis now...

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

I collect Mystery Minis now...

Postby BryanWalter85 » Tue May 15, 2018 2:01 pm

I've been avoiding Mystery Minis for so long, but after seeing the Thor mini from Infinity War, I got sucked in. As far as I can tell, it's the only toy that is actually screen accurate to the battle scene, but I haven't looked at too many other brands.

Anyway, here's the shot I took as soon as I got my hands on him. Lol

Thanks! I tried a few blind boxes, but then bought some others from friends who had multiple and that was nice. But part of me likes that risk of the blind bag. I just know having a ton of Thanos MM would be horrible. Haha

Yeah, I love pulling a rare from a blind box, but also hate the dupes... I mostly get my stuff through friends and online as well haha.

Yes. A lot of places have them on clearance in a few months. Heck, you can even get a few regular sets for cheap if you wait a few weeks. I'm not that patient but I've seen quite a few minis sell for under retail on eBay once the hype dies down.

Good to know! I'll probably buy a few more boxes then. Hopefully they aren't all Thanos. Lol

This post made me laugh! I also swore I would never delve into the abyss of collecting minis but since then have purchased more boxes of Walking Dead, Stranger Things and Lord of the Rings than I can count. With the announcement of the new Harry Potter wave, I think I may be getting myself into more trouble. Why do they have to be so darn cute and awesome and amazing...

I think in order to be 100% screen accurate one of his eyes needs to be brown. Nothing a dab of paint can't take care of.

Woohoo congrats on your first minis! Sometimes I think I should collect only minis because they take up less room and all small and cute. But then I realize can't give up the Pops either. They keep making stuff I like. lol

I used to say for the longest time I would never ever collect minis. Then I said "I only have a few of Characters I really like." Then I said " I will only collect HP."

Well I fully admit now I am Mystery Mini collector as well as Pops.

Mystery Minis can be the best and worst. It's great when you get that one you really wanted from a set or complete a set, but when you pull multiples of the same character it can become painful. But not knowing is supposed to be the fun :D Good luck!

I'm reading over these responses and like several of you I have not taken that path down the road of collecting MM. I can clearly see how cool they are and I want everyone's real opinions and thoughts. Is it worth venturing down this road to start collecting MM's?
