Cleaning

Funko has gone soft on us! Soft as in plush toys that is, so grab a comfy toy or two and come talk to us about them. Plushes, Fabrikations, and Mopeez, oh my!

Cleaning

Postby RBlue30 » Fri Oct 14, 2016 10:42 pm

Hi all!

I was wondering what is the best way that you clean your plushes and fabrications? Do you machine wash them? Or hand wash them?

Thanks!

From washing other plushes and toys, i suggest hand wash with a light detergent. Machine will ruin the shape and seams.

I collect other plushies, and I dry clean them at home occasionally. Once every couple of months or so. Otherwise, I just vacuum it a bit.

I used to use a Dust Buster (like a little, hand-held vacuum) on plush things. Worked pretty well.

I'd avoid a washing machine at all costs honestly. It's worked well in the past for some things, but a lot of the modern plush toys and whatnots are made of much cheaper materials than in years past and could easily just fall apart in the wash.

Awesome! Never thought to use a hand vacuum on them. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help everyone!

Ah, there are dry clean at home kits you can get from your local Wal-Mart or Target. It depends on what kind of washer and dryer you've got, but the packs look like this:

The one I have has like a little bag you can put whatever you want cleaned inside and you zip it along with one or two of the little cloths you get. They're similar to dryer sheets.
