I have an empty shelf in one of my Detolfs, I'll do a mockup this weekend and post a pic. I think 4 should be able to fit per shelf like I mentioned up above. I have a Detolf that has some car models displayed in it that I think are about the same size as Ridez and I have 6 per shelf- two in front, two in a clear display case in back, and two on top of the display case. It might be possible to display the Ridez like that too, I just need to check. But I'll do that soon and report back
I didn't take pics but I did try it out last weekend and one shelf easily holds 4 Ridez displayed at an angle. It's possible to cram 6 in there if you line them up side-by-side instead of turning them at an angle, but they just look a lot more pleasing turned at an angle I think.
I played around with some Ridez in an empty shelf in one of my Detolfs again as I'm about to go buy some more cases and wanted to see if I could make it work first. Here is what I found:
- There are two common acrylic case sizes for 1/18 scale cars, both are available with clear bases. One is 15-1/2 x 7 x 6 and holds two Ridez nicely but does not fit in a Detolf (but would be great for a shelf display). The other is 13 x 5.5 x 5 and will not hold two Ridez, only one. But it is big enough to perch two Ridez on top of and makes a nice riser for them. So I think that's what I've settled on, I'll put one in the case, two on top and two in front. The Detolf in this pic has a wood grained base but the ones the Ridez will actually go in are black. I don't like the wood grain but it will be covered by a future black foam core diorama. Anyway, that works out to 5 Ridez per shelf or 20 total, plus one of the bigger display cases can go on top and hold two more so 22 total. Right now there are 21 Ridez in the series, but they're not going to stop making them so I'm going to dedicate two Detolf cases to my Ridez collection
