In my opinion, the Bucky Cap is the best out of the group.
I hope there are still more marvel items to be revealed. Some dorbz would be nice.

Tony is the only must from this wave for me. Hopefully with an SDCC sticker but I just really want the pop, especially after seeing the helmet is glossy/metallic

I really hope it's not a Target shared tho.

All the Yondu craze happened after the movie released like a month ago when all the sdcc pops were probably being produced ready to ship probably this month from china. Since that's usually a good month by itself. Meaning the concept license and design phase could have been like 3-9 months ago way before anyone was screaming for new Yondu pops and he was sitting on shelves collecting dust.
I don't know the specifics of the true time it takes for a pop to be concepted, licensor approved, designed, sculpted, contracted, molded, production scheduled, produced and shipped. But my guess is it's longer than 3-6 weeks and I'm sure I'm even missing key steps

That's a good point actually. They give a character a Pop who has like three minutes screen time. Five tops

Maybe? He is a new character and its not like Yondu was given a lot of depth in the first movie. I mean how would you know unless Marvel gave you a script of the new movie, which I assume they keep pretty close to vest.

To everyone saying that this is an underwhelming wave of Marvel exclusives I just have to say, look back at 2014. This year blows that year out of the water by a huge margin. I guess some people just like to make themselves miserable.

the first bit of concept art they released back in July 2006 showed Yondu on the team, along with the first poster in October, so they should have known he was going to have a bigger role this time.

It was definitely before. The Dorbz was announced in early March which started speculation, and a lot of people were wishing/guessing for Yondu in the MCC GOTG2 box that shipped in April.

I've heard funko themselves (in a podcast I think it was) say that a pop takes around 6 months to take from a concept to an actual finished pop on a store shelf.

You guys seem to forget that Yondu Pops from Guardians 1 didn't sell. In fact, Yondu figurines are widely rumored to be responsible for the death of Disney Infinity. His Pops were clearanced out, none of his action figures sold, and a lot of toy makers saw him as a DoA sort of character. NOBODY could've predicted he would be the best character in Guardians 2. I promise you, that's probably why we DID get a Tasorface Pop: he was a character based around a funny gimmick that Funko no doubt assumed people would love to hate. I legitimately doubt anyone could've predicted that a line like Yondu's would go viral.
But don't worry, knowing Funko, I PROMISE they'll make that variant asap

I wonder if Disney would make an official shirt or not, they have the power to combine both licenses, but I'm gonna guess no. Seems like the only mash up of characters they ever do is Star Wars Disney.

The scene where Yondu, Rocket, and Baby Groot take down the Ravager ship by themselves was shown 11 months ago at SDCC. People already knew that Yondu was going to be big this time around. I've been pretty much expecting a Finned Yondu Variant since July 2016.

I understand all your points, but come on! I doubt Funko would miss doing a Yondu Pop if they did do Taserface. Although on saying that, they didn't do Age of Ultron Quicksilver, and he like Yondu did. Maybe that's why we aren't seeing either character? Just a wild guess.

Yondu had nothing to do with the death of Disney Infinity. That's ridiculous. All of Disney Infinity 2.0 was overproduced. And even then, Disney Infinity was profitable, but Disney didn't want to produce games in-house anymore.
NOBODY could've predicted he would be the best character in Guardians 2.
Except Marvel and James Gunn. Who were in Hall H last year telling everyone how big Yondu was going to be in GotG2 and backed that up by previewing a scene featuring Yondu.

Obviously there were a ton of people at Hall H. But just saying I think I'm surrounded by fans being on here, on fb and going to cons and I didn't really run into anyone who ever mentioned anything about any of that to me. This is all NEWS to me. I saw michael rooker at ECCC this year and even going into GOTG2 his line wasn't any longer than it was when he just got done being Merle on TWD. There really didn't seem to be a lot of prehype for him prior to the movie by even the ECCC crowd.
At the end of the day we'll agree to disagree. Yondu w/new finn could show up as an SDCC POP, that would be pretty cool. But my money is on a future GOTG2 Wave, maybe around the time of Blu Ray/DVD release? But who knows the hype is already dying down, it seems like all the hype now is about Wonder Woman.

I might have been living under rock but I sure didn't see Yondu having this much impact. I was blown away with his character development and story in Vol. 2.
Also, Bucky Cap is amazing, with look awesome next to other original mold caps!

I mean, they gave Taserface a pop. Did they think he was going to be more popular than Yondu?
That's a good point actually. They give a character a Pop who has like three minutes screen time. Five tops
It didn't stop them from doing a few crossbones variants also?

You guys should google about Constable Zuvio for Hasbro Black Series.

I was just about to bring him up!

Also, let's for forget that Funko cannot possibly predict what will be popular or not. If they could, our Walmart shelves would not be filled with Son of Zorn Pops, and our Hot Topic clearance shelves wouldn't still have Jupiter Ascending or Assassin's Creed movie Pops. My guess is they looked at the numbers and thought that a new character like Taserface would be more profitable than ANOTHER returning character.
All of this is silly, to be honest haha. We're arguing about why and when a new Yondu mold is coming out. Like...he's coming guys. Maybe for SDCC, maybe in the next wave of GotG2 Pops, maybe not until NYCC, but Funko's not going to ignore this hype. Patience, padawans. No need to fight with each other
