Let's See those Mini Displays

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Let's See those Mini Displays

Postby hailmary25 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 1:08 pm

I see a post like this in the Pop section and love seeing all the displays. And I know people get real creative sometimes with mini displays.

I did not see one here os let's get the ball rolling.

I keep mine at work these are in my open storage area of my cubicle. Most of my collection is GOT, HP, Anime, soon to be LOTR with some outliers sprinkled in.

I need to build some Risers, thought I’d be able to get a lot more on there then i did.

Might look into building my own. Buying them gets pricey!

I totally recommend building your own. I have started doing that and really like how they turn out. Probably can't provide pictures, but I use a foam board material.

There was a thread awhile back that people showed off displays. A few users showed off their displays using these displays cases from the Container Store:
https://www.containerstore.com/s/collec ... d=10022884
I tried them and highly recommend them too! I bought a few of them myself and they're very effective for minis. For bigger collections I'd suggest custom risers though.

I feel the same. Every now and then I get the urge to "GET IT ALL DONE FINALLY" so I go out shopping for display props and end up leaving empty handed because I'm like "ew $15? no way, I can build that..."

not.

Foam board! I do remember people saying they use that to make them. I just need to stop being lazy and look into it. Thanks for the recommendations!!!

I use the same spice rack risers as the OP (from Walmart, $15 each but they’re expandable) and also whatever else I have (Pop! and Wobbler boxes, cigar boxes, etc.).

Don’t mind my dusty shelves!!!!

My issue is I hate wasted space. So going wider with only three rows is really frustrating to me (though I do lik ehow they look for all you guys). I would rather go up as much as I can than keep going across. so for now I currently have most of my PSH in a jar lol

You have to upload them to an image hosting site or your blog first, then use the HTML image tags with the pictures' URLs.

I thought to use the golf ball display case from michaels which was on sale last week, but can’t post pics yet. That was too small for the taller mystery minis.

Some day I want to get into some wood working to design the perfect mini display case. I use 2 of the shot glass cases from Michael's. One is the right height but a bit narrow for some minis, the other has the width but not the height. Sigh... 1st world problems.

Image

They come black, I painted them semi-gloss white to match my shelving and let the colors pop more.

Thanks! They're from Michaels, called Coin Display Cases. Some of the PSH are a tight fit, but everything I have has worked in it so far.

I've seen lots of people use the display cases from the Container Store so I went out and bought one to try it out and I love it! It obviously won't work for all mini sets, but it's pretty fantastic.

This is my Mystery Mini setup - though it's already a little out of date as I moved the Fellowship around a bit last night but didn't grab a new pic.

Image
Image

And then this was how I had my HP Series 1 setup when I still had them (I've since sold them to a friend), couldn't keep Flocked Fawkes and Crookshanks with the set though, got way to dusty at work for it.

(On second look, pretty much everything in this picture except Newt has been sold...)

Have most of my PSH just displayed on random picture frames like so:

But also just got a shot glass display that works perfectly for PSH! Can’t wait to fill it up!

Glass front. Accessed by removing back panel. I use Quake hold to keep the minis in place for moving around/hanging the cases.

Displays look great! I like the shot glass set up for psh. It's very neat and clean. One I'll probably have enough to display in an orderly row, but for now I have so few that they just keep my pops company.

I like to use these Ikea picture frame ledges (shown are two per row). Its been the best option - minus a little dust. I buy too many to use the smaller , enclosed case (or shotglass display) - i simply do not have the room for them. These are also good as some figures are taller/wider than others, so spacing them isn't always uniform. There are 8 more shelves on the adjacent wall, my mini collection is getting out of hand

I'm yet to get everything else out on display, but in the meantime, while I still need to paint the boxes, I've combined my original obsession, sorry, passion, with my new minis one (& to a smaller extent, pops) all together on the same shelf for HP (second only to Star Wars in fandom for me).

I think I'll paint the boxes a deep forest green or just straight black so they blend in a bit more...
