"V" 1984 tv series action figures

Let's talk about Funko and Super 7's great line of ReAction and Legacy action figures. They don't bobble or pop, but they thrill in their own fun way.

"V" 1984 tv series action figures

Postby Manclad » Wed Feb 28, 2018 6:04 am

On Twitter, You Tube and this forum I always see many requests for 80s sci-fi series "V". I reckon Reaction type action figures would be the best way to go. What characters are must haves? What would be your ideal wave list?

I'm thinking two 3-packs would be ideal. One for the Visitors and one for the Resistance.

Visitors 3-pack :- Diana, Lydia, normal trooper (lizard head maybe or cap and sunglasses)

Resistance :- Mike Donovan, Julie Parish, Willy (or perhaps Kyle Bates)

I came across my copy of this series the other day. I agree the 3-pack action figures would be best. And you definitely can't leave out Willie

I think this is one where you would need at least one vehicle as well, as they were a big part of it.

Was this from Reaction? These look really cool. I never knew V was such a popular show.

No this is from an old 80s toy catalogue. This was the planned toyline to accompany the tv series, but it was cancelled. They only ever came out with a 12" doll.

Same! I was fascinated with Robert Englund's character and I remember a scene where he was about to eat a rat... :roflmao:

I don't know if I wanna see figures for the show though if you were around to see this in the 80's it was definitely a memorable show.

I think it came on Friday nights either before or after Miami Vice so it was definitely a high rated show for a year or so...the movies and mini series that preceded the TV show were WAY better...the show was kinda meh

Yes, I agree about this. The mini series was awesome so any action figures would be a must have

Wasn't this a mini-series that they tried to turn into a full time series? The rebooted one from this decade doesn't count.

Yes, it was a TV movie, then a 3 part mini series and eventually a full time show...

This was such a great show for it's time. Michael Ironside played the role of hero that was a total jerk and enjoyed torturing the aliens. If you don't remember Michael Ironside he played the lead henchman in the original Total Recall..."See you at the potttty Richter!"

It would be cool if Funko could take those photos from the catalog and recreate them today, but honestly it looks more like something Super 7 would do now.

I'm bumping this cos

a) it's 2019
b) Funko has the license for this (since 2015)
c) we need more action figures
d) I found these fan-made images...

They haaaaave to do either switch out Alien heads or maybe a double head: human on one side, alien on the other.

They could do it the way the old 12" figure was with a plastic human head over the attached alien head. Not sure how it would work on this scale, but it would be interesting.

For the sake of normal sized heads lol, I'd prefer separate alien headed troops and then normal headed troops. Unless they have removable / replaceable heads, which would work too.
