Gold Hopper (40 count!!!)
Congrats to everyone who were lucky enough to get the Gold Hopper from Stranger Things!!! Being a Stranger Things collector myself (Not only Funko) I am extremely jealous. I guess that's why they call certain Pops GRAILS Maybe one day someone will let one go. sigh. !

If it wasn't a very limited piece, I would say that it's a boring release. I digress. Congratulations on the winners!!

If you want to continue having a complete stranger things collection, it got a lot more expensive, unless you were table 20 . Especially if you collect the Freddy's as well.

I was more excited seeing Harbour come out than for a gold spray painted Hopper. Congrats to table #20 regardless.

A friend of mine got one. It is pretty sweet, but still not a fan of spray gold/chrome paint pops.

Wooooo those secondary market prices already. What a cool piece for the people who won them and a great representation of the memory, but wayyyyy too expensive for most people.

I saw that somehow big apple collectibles got three of these and sold them for about $2k each. So ridiculous. I really wonder how they got any, let alone three.

They're a company who does a lot of different exclusives at a markup. It's hilarious because their saying on every page you open at the bottom says this:
And this is what they do to "help collectors":
How anyone can give this garbage company money after these and all the funday stuff they have up for absolute ripoffs is beyond me. Scumbag company.

Yeah that 2nd market price is ridiculous. Feel really bad for the hard core ST collectors. But I would not pay the amount that big apple collectibles is selling hopper for.

I mean if it didn't have a sticker or # it would be worthless. It is just a common spray painted gold. Though congratulations to the real collectors and fans who got him.

Congrats! I'm a completist of the Stranger Things set but I'm actually ok with never owning a gold Hopper - not a variant that makes much sense to me. A cool bonus for attendees though!

Congrats to those that got the Golden Hopper. I thought I would be able to keep up with my Stranger Things collection, but after Fundays, that went out the door.

I guess they are, they just recently started showing up to me. I heard they also take quite a few preorders on things and cancel a ton later. Dunno if that's true, but I could see it.

I don’t know this place, but it’s highly likely that people from this company were at Fundays at a table 20. They have an exclusive at SDCC (at Chalice Collectibles booth) so it wouldn’t be surprising. Obviously 2k is a lot, but I think it’s a lot less than the open market value which will probably be closer to 4-5k.

I've had great experiences ordering from BAC. Their chase bundles tend to be reasonable. I received an order from them that had a few Pops that were crushed during shipping (including the chase), and other than a slight communication delay, I had no issue getting them replaced.
Other than perhaps showing off that they got three of them, which comes off as gloating, I don't have an issue with their selling them at 2k. As mentioned, it's a lot lower than what's being offered up on eBay. There's only 40. What would you suggest is a "fair" price?

I guess being a 40pc is good because I know I will realistically never be able to own one and just admire ot from afar. Congrats to table #20!

Thats great you had a good interaction with them, and I'll be the first to admit that a good amount of item prices on the site are reasonable.
As for price, I'm different than most and it's a tough call. I look at it from the standpoint of they have that mission statement saying "low prices" and whatnot, yet they're charging $2k for a pop. That's ridiculous. That flies directly opposite of what they say they do, by their own words. Just because it's cheaper than ebay doesn't make it a good deal. They're just taking advantage of people plain and simple in my eyes. If you're standing by your mission statement, you don't hike it up that much.
I get it, there's only 40. That's insanely limited. I personally believe none of these guys outside rare, rare few should ever get that expensive, but again, I'm different. I think these types of situations hurt collectors more than help them, and its disgraceful that a company that's "helping collectors" would put something up like that. If you really want to help, put it at something like $400-$500(which I still wouldn't ask for personally), and your still way ahead. Anyways, I appreciate you point of view and get where you're coming from.

I don’t understand why they should basically give away something like this. If they sell a $4k Pop! for $400, it’s most likely going to someone who is just going to immediately flip it for $4k. I think offering grails at half price is pretty fair to everyone, but that’s just me.

Looked like a cool piece but it’s ridiculous about the secondary market. If someone really wants one, a can of. Spray paint can do the trick.

In previous years it was 1/24 and before that 1/12. Funko doesn’t really see it as this is worth So much can be be sold for even more. I think it’s more along the lines of here is something ultra rare and hopefully it’ll get in the hands of fans that will appreciate it. Such limited number items are seeming less common every year. No 20 inch Freddy’s, only one 1/24, one 1/40. This event is for the fans and the more fans that come on board the bigger editions need to be made to accomindate us. Missing out on one Variant isn’t the end of the world, not for me or anyone else.
