that is awesome. dont hear these kind of stories often. congrats.
my target is the opposite of this. cali targets are the worst.
For every 10 Target stories there's always one that has a happy ending!
I think it’s more selection bias in complaints. People who are unhappy tend to be more vocal.
I’m in So Cal. I was able to pick up Sugar Bear initially, then the rest of the set later. In the first instance, they couldn’t find the box, and there was maybe 20 something people waiting. They took phone numbers, and since so many people were waiting, they limited it to one Ad Icon per person. I got a call later in the day and they held Sugar Bear for me.
I showed up the following week at another Target in my area getting them in. Again, they couldn’t find the box, but the Target employee took the phone numbers of the first 7 people in line and when he was able to track down the box the next day, he called us and held them for us. Apparently he got grief that morning, because a new line of BrickSeek hunters showed up, and he had to explain that he was holding them for us. I’m sure that he got accused of holding them for himself or other employees.
From my experience, when they say they can’t find the box, they genuinely can’t find the box. They’d prefer to sell them as quickly as they can so that they’ll stop getting calls about BrickSeek.

Yes, I absolutely agree! It would be cool only if it made sense doing it.

I actually think that a Scented Ad Icon would be dope!!! A bubble Gum Bazooka Joe sounds like it'd be sick. Something like that would most likely be a Con exclusive though. I don't see it being mass produced enough to be a common.
True, Stinkor and Swamp Thing were both scented and con exclusives, but I think Bubble gum smells waaaayyyy better

My store decided to hold all ad icons until Sunday. They haven't put any of them out to date... Problem is now everyone is aware and there's going to be a huge line and I'll have to be there before dawn after being up all night working. I really hope I can score Twinkie and chase.

Re: Ad Icons and Target
I'm curious if there was some memo send out at Target... One of my friends said they went in to a store today to hunt for the Ad Icons restock and the electronics employee had all of them locked away under the counter. You had to specifically ask for them, and then they'd sell you a maximum of 1 of each. Certainly an interesting new approach, though I'm not sure how I feel about it being so ridiculously secretive

It's strange that there was never a variant on Sonny from Cocoa Puffs since all the other cereal pops that released alongside it got one. Maybe some manufacturing issue? Anyway it'd be awesome to get a variant for him too, maybe flocked would be the best or... chocolate scented?

Lol - I'm trying to tell you. I don't know not one person that would pass on a scented Ad Icon. I mean the one thing about Ad Icon's that everyone likes is it's a sense of nostalgia and there is no deeper sense of nostalgia then a "scented" Ad Icon!
