Harry Potter - Wave 6

Postby Avengers74 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 5:10 pm

Since this was announced yesterday I was surprised that there wasn’t much discussion about it and since it is a new wave I thought a fresh thread would be best.

So here is the announcement:

https://www.funko.com/blog/article/comi ... nt-and-pop

Since these were previewed at Funko Fundays at SDCC, there were really no new items or surprises. Granted the ones that would have been surprises have already been released - Harry Potter/Platform 9 3/4, Seamus Finnigan and McGonagall Animagus. Still it is good to see them finally announced and exciting that they will be released soon.

Personally I am excited for the Movie Moment of Ron on the Chess piece, but also like Hermione w/ cauldron, Polyjuice Hermione as a cat and Hedwig. The new sculpt of Dobby w/ magic and Ron w/ the howler and Harry w/ pajamas are good too, and even the Bloody Barron are good too. I am wondering where the Flocked Sirius Animagus is since that was previewed before.

What are your thoughts?

While I'm all for there being more waves of HP I'm kind of bored with the fact that this is another wave largely based off Chamber of Secrets. We havnet got anything that is specifically past Order of the Phoenix yet. I'm also kind of bored with so many of the Trio. I like variants but again they are all from Chamber. I would like to see a few more new characters next wave. Maybe some Weasleys or Tonks.

TLDR Love that there are more pops but want more new characters

Welp looks like I will be buying several more HP pops. And just when I thought I would be taking a buying break. ;-)

Good take on your opinion of the pops released. My thinking is that it’s probably in the works... kind of like how apple releases an iPhone 8 but already has an iPhone 10 complete and holding it

Hagrid is my favorite character, and I'm a little sad that we do get a second Pop! of him..but..it's basically the same exact thing except he's holding a cake instead of his umbrella. I'm crossing my fingers we do eventually get him and his bike. I'm kind of sick of seeing Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but the chess piece is a must. I'm glad we did get a couple of different 'characters' this time around.

I'm overwhelmed with the amount of HP pops out there I'd like to have, and I don't even get every single one, or variants of the same character. I may have to stop collecting this line, as much as I love it, it's just too many too often. I'm struggling to collect anything I want right now anyway, so cutting back or cutting out a large line might be ideal. :/

I feel like this wave should have been more creative. As someone else mentioned I am ready for some later book/film characters. We got a Tennant head mold already out there, give me Barty Crouch Jr. I also need some Weasley Parents in my life. Enough of the core 3.
Love to Collect the 80s stuff. Also chasing the OG Rocky Set. First Funko Purchase was 2012 SDCC.

I don't really collect the Harry Potter line, but this wave is really nice. I will be picking up the movie moment though. It's my favorite and will be my first movie moment purchase.

I'm getting so burnt out on the HP waves - they have amazing figures (although super sick of Harry), but they come so close together. But I do loooove the Ron movie moment and Hermione doing potions <3

They've already been released, I got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago.

Currently I have every one of the HP Pops but they are coming out too close together now and I don't have the money or the room. I guess I'm going to have to be picky about which ones I pick up from now on.

Definitely excited for flocked Hedwig and Bloody Baron. Already got Seamus... The rest are meh imo... I'm bored of the trio too, and think they missed the mark on McGonagall as a cat.. Where are the marks around her eyes that look like her glasses?

Seamus and cat McGonagall have been out for a while, they just randomly showed up to pre-order in mid-August, McGongall shipped August 31st and Seamus shipped October 4th... yet they weren't officially announced until this wave :-s

I've pretty much been forced to collect only Doctor Who and HP and maybe a few other small things... specifically because HP is coming out way too fast to be able to spend money on anything else. Now they're doing Movie Moments for HP/FB. Funko hates for people to have money and space lol I love all the HP/FB stuff but they need to slow down a little, give people a chance to catch up. I've managed to stay on top of the exclusives but after the Wildcard Toys debacle, I haven't managed to get anything from the wave with Mad Eye Moody or any of the commons after that.

I found both of them on Big Apple collectibles, but they say pre order. Does anyone know how that works if they’re already out? I would love to get both of them.

Yeah, he has all except the commons that they repackage into 3 packs since they're literally the same pop with a different box so he doesn't count those.

I've been thinking about collecting HP and honestly, there aren't as many as you'd think. Tho I'm a SW collector with basically 300 pops or sets alone, so I might be biased lol

I count them all. Solo, Rogue One, Rebels, etc. I’m missing about 7 of the super expensive/old/rare ones, but I have about 6 that are worth over $100, and 4 of those are worth about $400. But I love SW, so all the rest are unboxed! Running out of room, tbh.

Tho the most valuable pop I have is Blue Chrome Batman. I have maybe ~100 non-SW pops from smaller lines or just characters I like. They’re displayed separately!
