Re: Gold Hopper (40 count!!!)
If you are buying a legit LE 40 Gold Hopper for $2,000 i don't think that is insane. The price seems pretty accurate with how much things are selling for these days. The people willing to pay that amount are huge Stranger Things fans, so i don't really see it as crazy. You can say that its so easy to fake one; but the big difference will be that one is legit and created by Funko, while the other was more than likely made in someone's backyard.

There may actually be more fakes than real ones. I wish Funko would individually number limited pops.

Agree with the individually numbered. Particularly on the low run stuff like this one

For an LE 40 nah, if we talking crazy, i think its crazier when someone pays that amount for a PA Vegeta, in which a couple thousand exist and is one of the most faked pops out there. But again DBZ fans will pay that price because if you can and it's one of your ultimate grails why not?

i think if they start numbering it might spike up cost or whatever. I don't think funkos intention is to make these high valuable collectible. Once you start numbering things it takes it to a different direction.

I have to disagree - Funko knows what they are doing when they make things limited to xxx number. They know demand rises, hype rises, and sells more product.

This is a modern legendary grail. Even if you got into the super exclusive impossible to get into fundays event, only a few actually got one. I can definitely see how this has some crazy value, and good centerpiece for stories on how you obtained it

if they plan to make them more valuable why not add serial number edition number maybe better QC, material etc.

I can still remember a couple dudes at fundays going to each of the tables 10s and asking the lucky people who won the Hopper if they were willing to sell...

My guess is that they feel the limited number thing is enough and don't want to spend the extra money?

For Hopper probably not a lot but understanding that they would not do it only for LE 40's but a lot of the other LE's it would cost more. I am just speculating of course!

It would be even more reason to collect if it had serial numbers.. but then flippers would price by the lowest number. 3 of 10

If I didn't have one and was looking to buy. Id ask for the badge from table 20 or something from fundays that kinda shows that they were there. I keep mine with my badge from The Goonies table 20 i was sitting at.

Yeah, I would definitely want proof that the person was at the table and there. Too many good "customs" around.

Yeah, I have no clue. Maybe they don't want to change anything. just keep it simple and keep it to the way it always has been.

I don't know anything about the business side of making things, but I wouldn't think it would have cost much. Especially the volume of collectibles they pump out. The other stuff I collect they number it by hand.

The other problem is where they get manufacture i'm sure if they wanted to they could easily take the molds and make their own.
