Are Dorbz falling off the Funko Train?

They're tiny and cute. How can you resist?

I think so. I have not purchased a dorbz in awhile. I used to buy them all the time!

I hope that they aren’t, but I have to say, the emphasis has certainly not been there for a little while. I mean the pop line pays the bills. Trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice is hard.

I wish Funko would be a bit more transparent with Dorbz, and just say they're either dead or just sporadic Funko Shop releases, which seems the case.

I think Funko realize that Dorbz weren’t selling as well as they wanted. So, they had to keep them limited

One thing I’ve noticed about them is their not transparent about anything. They are not very informative or vocal with the fans at all. Hell we didn’t even know if the ECCC exclusives were finished or not.

Yeah, it really sucks. It gets progressively worse, like no longer sharing vaulted figures; they at least used to do that.

Yeah. I like to wait for commons to try and get them cheaper in a bundle, so it's a bit irritating knowing some could get vaulted at any point.

I have a few left in my collection, but when I downsized not long ago the dorbz were virtually impossible to get rid of even at $1 each at local Pop sale events. If it isn't Pop then most collectors don't seem to care all which is unfortunate.

I really love dorbz. It all started when my son would want to play with his Pop!s and sometimes they would break. Dorbz are a little more sturdy and compact so I suggested he get a Dorbz....fast forward we both love Dorbz and yes I agree they are really cute...and always happy and smiling. My favorite in my collection is the 4 pack of GoT Dragons..They look like they are laughing.. my fav... :freddy4:

I agree with just about all of this but when they have things in their hands I find those to be so fragile, like my Jean Lafoote spoon broke off in the mail a couple of my anime ones with swords broke off. Over all I love dorbz and I hope they keep coming even if it is just a handful a year.

Feels like the 5 star is what is taking over dorbz. I don't see the 5 stars selling so well in stores though.

I know I sold like 5 dorbz at a garage sale and got $2 a piece. Yet pops I got $8-$10 each

You can normally find quite a few deals on eBay. I initially found a ton on Hot Topic and GameStop clearance, but now those sites don't have that many to pick from. I'd also recommend Amazon lots of times they'll have add on item prices for Dorbz and I was able to get a ton for under $3 each.

I don’t think it’s necessarily hate but as a lot of people pointed out many just don’t collect them for whatever reason it may be. I don’t really collect them either but I do have somewhat a good amount of them because they’re pretty cool. And because many people just collect pops it’s understandable why there’s “hate” when dorbz are the only item being released at the funko shop.

I recently started collecting every size of certain characters. Back to the Future, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Ghostbusters and Willy Wonka. Instead of being a full completionist I thought it would be cool to collect a few characters but of all their sizes from Pint Size Heroes to Vinyl Idolz.

Ooouuuw! Interesting thought! Like you, I collect them occassionally if/when something stands out. If I collected them and Pops! with the same passion, it would be like having the kids and the grandkids take over the house. It would be absolutely overwhelming! There are some nice ones out there that do complement Pop! versions/collections well though. lol
