Blind box protectors?

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Blind box protectors?

Postby funkystark » Wed Jan 16, 2019 3:15 pm

Has anyone every found soft or hard cases for blind boxes? I know it's not typically something you'd want to protect but I have 2 autographed blind boxes coming and was wondering if it was a thing.. a quick google search didn't really result in anything. I am considering just getting some ultra pro trading card cases but was wondering if there was anything specifically made for them.

Not specifically made for them, but would a baseball case might work? Feel like maybe container store had all acrylic ones for baseballs and softballs. I got a baseball one from Michael’s a while back that has a black base.

That's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking Eddie. Seems like it's probably going to be the best choice, I'm sure there aren't too many blind boxes stored in protective cases lol

Container store should have something that might work.

Your item was signed in the box or in the actual figure? And who signed it?

I’d check the Ultra Pro display cases and protectors. They have lots of choices. Thinking a baseball (not bat, just the ball) display case would work perfectly..plus they have 2 and 3 ball ones, so you could keep them together

Hadn’t seen any new updates for pop Pez yet, but I’ve been trying to watch. Right now, they probably are getting close to making some first batches. RetroProtection is a great place to get protectors ;-)

I don't have any suggestions, but would love to see what you end up with! Don't hear of people getting blind boxes autographed a lot.

That’s a good idea. I should try that. And Micheal’s usually has a 40% off coupon.

Agreed that a baseball case seems like it would be a good fit. Never thought to protect the boxes, but might consider it. I do have a few saved from the lines I collect because I like that they show the checklists on them.

I want to know too! In any case, I'd happily use fitted soft protectors for all of my Funko MM boxes; I'd even consider a hard stack if I had one autographed. Somebody please make this a thing.

Sketone, Jled and Junko Mizuno - I ended up going with collectable card acrylic disaplays. The fit is perfect top to bottom but has gaps left to right, it's not perfect but doing the job.

I'd never heard of cases for blind boxes, but I think there should be. I like the idea of using a baseball display case. Looks like it would fit really well.

The baseball case is probably your best bet. Did you even open the boxes to see whats inside or are they sealed?

You can try Tap Plastics. I have a few shops where I live and they have lots of plastic/acrylic case or boxes for all types of things. Might be able to find things at this link. If you have one in your area you could have them custom make something too.

I know i've seen some collectors utilize like a shot glass case with a shield over it. Depending on the size of course.

Pez protectors are available on Amazon. I bought a bunch recently and they were pretty good. If you are going to SDCC then you can also check at Display Geek, I feel like they have everything!
