But also I'm a bit confused. I swear I saw in some NatGeo documentary that the donkey originates from Egypt and Western Asia.

I would totally dig the Philippine character, since I’m from Manila, but I don’t think we will have one since the already revealed all 12 characters at the back of the Pop! Around The World Pops!

Maybe there will be a second wave and the Philippines will be included in it. If there is a second wave, I'm hoping there is a Peruvian Pop Around the World as well.

I think people like to discover new things, and i also think it’s a good way any for Funko to make collecting educational, so parents can have fun getting their kids involved in a new way.

I didn't think about the educational component of this line. I like it. It is pretty awesome

Not that i like to tout this, but i work for a popular doll company and i always hear about how people liked it more when they focused on historical stories and stuff bc it made the toy educational. It makes sense to do this with a portion of the Funko offerings.

This is a very interesting angle. Never thought about it, but it also makes a lot of sense.

They started doing that with American History, but I wish they would expand beyond that.

The Myths line, while not factual, is a good representation of the potential a historically related pop could have. The Myths have a brief backstory on the box to introduce each mythical creature. It's quite fascinating to me, and I can see them applying that to an expansion of the historical line.

You can't compare the American Girl Doll Josefina to what Funko offered for Mexico in Around the World. They are really nothing more than cute portrayals of American sterotypes. There is nothing educational being served up with any of these figures.
