Unreleased Asia Pops
Hi,
I remember seeing some old Asia pops displayed at a mindstyle booth online, though some never ended up getting mass produced. These include Pope Francis, Red Oni, and other creatures and myths. Does anyone know why they were scrapped and if there anymore like them?

Re: Unreleased Asia Pops
i have seen some floating online as well. Including astro boy's sister and red oni.
not sure why was it scrapped though? Maybe losing licence? or just not popular enough for funko to push through production?
but i would love some creatures and myths!

yeah, there are a lot of Asia concepts that were unfortunately not produced. And now, it seems like that the whole line is already retired.

Usually it's licensing or something of that nature when they don't get made. I love the Asia myth line and other pops.

I have some of the Astro Boy POPs, really cool sculpts! Maybe for con releases? Bringing back Ultraman was pretty successful it seems with that Barnes and Noble first to market.

They’re still releasing Tossakan and Hanuman variants, so who knows what else might be released.

Yeah, but looks like just old molds, different colors for the Thailand Pops!.
As far as I know, these are the only ones being released in the Pop! Asia line.

The Valiant comics line was also part of Pop Asia for some reason, and none of those came out other than Faith at NYCC. I was hoping to see Bloodshot and X-O Manowar.
Please Funko make Taylor Swift Pops!

Would love some Astroboy pops but also a pop of Golden Bat, the first Comicbook hero before Superman. That would be pretty awesome. I would also love more Japanese Yokai Pops.
HUGE Cartoon fan who has been collecting Funko since 2015. Collect everything Hanna-Barbara including Pops, Pez and Sodas. Also collect Disney, 80’s cartoons and Ad Icons!

Looks like it. It’s been a couple of years since we had new Asia Pops!
What we had new the past year or so are just repaints mostly of the Thailand related Asia Pops. (Giant Lady, Tossakan repaints/chromes).

Same here. I wish I could get them first hand in the US, but few places carry them (let alone in mint condition)!

Also Gold is easy to fake so that's a double whammy. I'll need to be cautious.
