So I agree best placement on window. Now side or front window? I could see how color would have to vary depending on color of the pop and box.

Any pop valued under $200-$300 gets autographed for me if I have the opportunity!

Sharpie is OK but paint pen is the way to go!
Now that I've seen the difference, I have to agree - HUGE difference between the two!

I agree, so I don't think I would ever buy one. But it can be a lot of fun to get it signed in person for your own collection!

Are we talking Freddy, or just in general? I can understand having Mike or Brian sign a Freddy, though now they have their own pops to potentially get signed.

I've never seen a signature on the side window, have you done that? How did it turn out? I definitely like better the autographs that don't cover the entire front window, so you can still see the figure inside.

I personally like autographs because it adds more meaning and value to me. Getting a pop signed is already a proof that I met them once and it will stay with me and in my collection forever. I'm skeptical about buying a signed pop elsewhere, but if it is coming directly from the celebrity's merch store or from a con, I'd definitely get it.

When Stan Lee signed my Pop back then, his handler refused to let him sign with my paint pen, I had to spend $125 for his sig in basic black Sharpie! But at least I got to be a few feet from the legend!

I love autographs, last year I was able to complete my Mike and Brian signature and at sdcc was lucky enough to win the raffle for Stranger Things Actor Mathew Modine. Looking forward to tomorrow getting my Klay Thompson pop signed. Next I really want Pedro Pascal aka Mandalorian and Joel signature also Tenoch Huerta aka Namor.

I'm jealous you got a Stan Lee signature on a pop! I also have a sharpie signature for him, but in a book, so the sharpie isn't so terrible there.

Congrats on the Mike & Brian autographs, I'm only halfway there so far. Sounds like you've got quite a plan for future autographs, hope we get to see pictures when they're done! Have you given significant thought on colors for the autographs?

Re: Autograph or not to autograph? That is the question!
I collected autographs prior to pops, mostly on cards and 8x10s.
But now I pretty much get all my autographs on pops when I can.
The main reasons are that they are licensed, and it keeps my collection consistent (all the same items).
I still get other things signed, but those are special cases or if there are no pops available.

I love getting pops autographed. Current Autograph collection includes:
Emperor Palpatine Pop signed by Ian McDiarmid
General Grievous pop signed by Matt Wood
Wynonna Earp SDCC edition signed by Melanie Scrofano
Wynnona Earp Chase signed by Melanie Scrofano & Emily Andras
Doc Holliday Pop signed by Tim Rozon
Ahsoka Tano pop signed by Ashley Eckstein
Nico Minoru pop signed by Lyrica Okano
Oliver Queen Pop signed by Stephen Amell
Malcolm Merlyn pop signed by John Barrowman
Mike Becker Signed Soda
I also have an Agatha Harkness Pop Signed by Kathryn Hahn on the way from SWAU.
All pops except Nico Minoru & Agatha I went to a convention & got signed. I won the Nico one in a contest & had the signature verified. I had plans to get a John Diggle one signed by David Ramsey, but the con was cancelled during the pandemic. Hope to get more signed at some point.

I like having them signed, most of mine are signed on the box, but early on I had a Charlie from Supernatural without a box so Felicia Day just signed the pop itself. I think they make for fun collectibles, especially if you have a story behind them. I work a lot of conventions so when I see a guest coming that matches a pop, I usually take it with me. One of the most special is a Chewbacca that my husband got signed by Peter Mayhew just months for he passed away. We had worked several shows with him and just happened to remember to bring it that time.
Collector, convention manager, all around nerdy weirdo!!

If it wasn't actually them that I was going to have signed, I think I'd skip the pop and go for something like a t-shirt or a program. But hey, whatever you have on hand if it's an unexpected experience!

The longer I collect, the more I am starting to like the chasing of autographs....Its fun to find out what celebrities will be nearby that you can possibly bring a pop to get signed....
Although recently I showed up at Plastic Empire to get some Naruto pops signed, and the line stretched way longer than I was willing to wait.
I guess lots of other people had the same idea...

I agree. Last two conventions I've been to I've seen long lines for the pop autographs and each time I think I draw closer and closer to finally pulling the trigger on getting one or two of my favorite pops signed. You never know when your window will close on getting that signature forever.

I missed multiple chances that I had to get Stan Lee's and JDF auto. I'm really bummed about it

If given the opportunity I enjoy getting an autograph. I wouldn't spend extra money for an already autographed item though. Right now my only autographed Pop is my Conan Pennywise, which I was able to get signed by James McAvoy and Bill Hader outside of the show at SDCC.
Funatic from Philadelphia. Nicolas Cage Super Fan.

Don't have any autographed Pops, never been one to chase for them but I definitely know a few I'd love if I had the chance. At the top would probably be Brendan Fraiser's autograph on a Rick O'Connell pop. Other than that, would love to get MCU actors to sign the character they play but I have no idea how difficult that could be.

This is why I try to get autographs that are authenticated at time of signing. Most of my auto’s are of sports players as they will never change compared to voice actors and even movie characters.

I agree, but the Mariotti Pop and the Mariotti/Becker two pack are limited so it might be hard for some people to get them. I got Becker on a poster at FunDays but I definitely want Mariotti to sign my Pop of his from Making Fun.
I do understand having Becker sign a Big Boy though. That was the first license he got for Funko so there is a connection there.

Big Boy makes total sense but there's some that markup Mike's auto like it's Stan Lee lately but Mike's always happy to sign. Finding Brian is another story!

Re: Autograph or not to autograph? That is the question!
i work for a convention down in Australia so i get chances to get alot of my pops signed but honestly i only do those for actors/characters i really love or have a strong connection to.
Like i got some of my fave voice actors work done and some of the guests who are in shows i love. Sadly sometimes i see people bring like 10 chases or pops to get signed with no names or personalization and all i think is "make it out to ebay" XD

They aren't really my cup of tea, but I also don't get to go to events a ton so that could partially be why. The experience of getting it seems way more fun
