New Hikari Funko Vinyl ~ What's Caught Your Eye?
The Funko booth at Toy Fair was so amazing and there was lots of great product to look at. It took me no less then 10 walk-throughs over the last three days to really see everything and absorb it. What I'm walking away with is a HUGE love for the new Hikari pieces. Batman is super cool, but it's the TMNT that stole the show for me--I will be soooo collecting these. Pictures do not do these pieces justice. The translucent vinyl with the light play and the sparkles--it really is something that has to be seen in person. The gold and the silver turtles are incredible.
Just thought I'd give this great new Funko line a shout out and post some pics that I had. Sorry I didn't get the back of Batman too well, I was a bit fixated on the turtles. In the first pic, in the background, you can get a glimpse of Batman's cape.
And yes, that is a button on the tube that you press and a little LED light illuminates the container.

They look pretty damn sweet! Can't wait to see how they look in person. But like Pete, curious to see how tall they are as well. Were you able to see it light up in the packaging?

Re: New Hikari Funko Vinyl
I want to say they were about 8 inches tall. It was already said, but the price point will be $40.00 for the non-exclusives. I believe the translucent and metallic are both non-exclusives. Brian told Stacey and I the production run numbers but let me double check with him tomorrow to confirm the numbers. I don't want to put out bad info. The translucent guys (Batman and TMNT) are going to be runs of about 5000, so it shouldn't be hard to get them in your collection.

I did push one of the buttons and the light did work, but the lighting in the display case was quite bright so no way to tell how fully the tube will illuminate. It looked like a single LED in the top front, but I can double check that tomorrow also. It stays on for a while. Pretty cool concept.

Thank you Scott for the update. I can't believe I will be broadening my horizon and step out of the POP realm.

I hear you Matson. I wouldn't have thought this kind of vinyl would have been my thing either, but they're definitely a game changer. Of course they won't speak to everyone, nothing does, but I think this line is going to be very successful.

Re: New Hikari Funko Vinyl
I'm eager to discuss this line, especially details about the Star Wars Hikari, but shouldn't this thread be merged into the Toy Fair thread?
Or is it now safe to start individual threads for the different products?

The cereal boys I would go for no doubt. I'm a little torn on these new pieces. Cool looking but not sure if they will end up in my collection.

Thanks for this update!! I was nervous because of the hand numbered, good to know 5000 for atleast one or 2 of the bats will be pretty easy to get. Crossing my fingers for a decent number for the others.

Those are cool. Turtles & Batty don't interest me...but other characters might. Neat concept overall. Great pictures, Scott.

Thanks for the info. 5,000 is great news because I definitely need at least 1 of the Batmans. Curious to see how other characters will translate into this style. I think it's great start to a new line with a lot of potential.

This is a pretty nifty idea. I'll definitely be picking up at least one Freddy, assuming he makes it into Hikari-form.

Re: New Hikari Funko Vinyl
Well, strike it up to the incredible popularity of Funko at this toy fair but Brian was booked solid with appointments for the entire day so I couldn't ask him any extra questions. The gist of our original conversation was that for the regular pieces [whatever they are] will be run in generous numbers, 3000, 5000. There will be some limited editions but not 12/24/48; more like 100 or 300.
Didn't find out where they'll be sold but you have to expect Gemini will have them.
I did take two more pics so you could see their size relative to a PoP and also a shot to see Batman's cape.

I'd consider these if they happened to Marvel. I suppose it will depend on how popular these pieces are.
