Pop Errors.... How are they valued?
My gf bought a gus gus in a slipper hot topic exclusive and when she got it home realized thee was no bow on the slipper. There isn't even a bow in the box. I guess my question is, do these errors happen often? Are they considered more valuable or should we take it back and get another one?

I would take it back and exchange it. I had the same with a TaskMaster I bought that was missing an arm. Missing pieces to me,at least, doesn't make it more valuable. Just incomplete. It's not a glow paint error or error that would seem more desirable. Just my two cents. Hope this helps!

I'm on the other side, I'd totally keep it, especially if it wasn't really terribly noticeable. Like broken and chipped vinyl where the bow was obviously broken off or something. I think it makes it unique. I think paint errors are more common but in this case, I'd totally keep the slipper.

They do happen once in awhile. I've received Star Wars POP!s before without any stands and even some Marvel without their weapon or prop. I've seen a lot of original Captain America's without his shield recently at GameStops. Not sure why

Re: Pop Errors.... How are they valued?
depends on the error. If its just missing a piece then im pretty sure its worth less. But for example Logan pop has a non bobble error and that usually goes for a little bit more. I think once taskmaster becomes harder to find the glow head version will be worth a little bit more as well

If you're looking for value (which I don't recommend) you're only going to really find it when it comes to widespread errors, for example the yellow logo batman from a while back. If it is too unique, it is essentially any other figure or just a custom in people's minds. Some paint errors are cool, some aren't. Aesthetics is about all the value you're gonna find.

So my Deadpool with an entire arm painted Black instead of Red isn't worth thousands of dollars?

These missing parts POPs are not worth anything more than regular POP. UNLESS you find some hardcore completionist that HAS to have that type of error. Even then, I doubt they'd pay anything extravagant. Return it and get a new one if it bothers you. Or keep it and have a "cool one of a kind super rare factory error piece", in ebay terms.

ALL THE TIME.

As the others have already said, unless it's something really interesting it probably has decreased the value. In your GF's case, the Pop isn't so much an error, it is incomplete. You'd be surprised how many "missing parts" Pops have been described on these forums.
The thing about Pops is the boxes aren't sealed. So anyone can take one out and put it back in the box upside down, or take it out and remove a part and stick it back in and call it a "factory error". If it had any value then there are plenty of unscrupulous people out there that would do exactly that. The only factory variations that are worth anything are things like the silver Batman of which a few had the chest bat painted black, or variants that have had their eyes painted a different color. But in those cases Funko confirmed that the variants were legit, so that counts for a lot.

Take it back if it bothers you. Otherwise enjoy it's oneness.
Despite what ebay sellers think, missing parts and paint mistakes are par for the course. As stated, missing parts is a non-starter since I can open a box, pull the whole figure apart, and put it back without anyone noticing that the box has been opened.
Spelling mistakes...also not a big deal.

I got an Amazing Spider-Man with the box has blue instead of black around the eyes. Outside of myself not sure many people would have paid 5 bucks for it.

Re: Pop Errors.... How are they valued?
I value it based on demand. As others have said, if the error is something that could be perceived as "cool" i.e. Batman with a yellow bat symbol prior to the gamestop exlusive, a glow in the dark head or arm, turning a non bobble into a bobble or vice versa, or a recolor...then absolutely that can add value depending on what people of course will pay for it. If it's something like a missing piece, a misspelled word (unless the mispelling turned out to be really hilarious like a curse word). I don't see much, if any value from the error. And in that case it's up to you if you like it or not.

I have a glittery hair Joy that I bought from forbidden planet. Her dress is yellow instead of green - looked on eBay and someone had sold it for £50 :P

they need to be mass produced, or like Funko produced one batch with all the same errors.. that's a kind of error that could have some values

Yeah but in some cases like the "Wallgreens" error, even though an entire batch had that error and it's kind of funny/unique. It's not something that creates value. The error has to be something that makes the piece kind of cool IMO, as for being an entire batch, I think it has more to do with verifying authenticity that it is an actual error vs some one with good artistic skills trying to pull a fast one.

Honestly I paid a few extra dollars for the WALLGREENS error Spirit Yoda since I missed out on the first run. Also cool to know that you have something from the first batch release (in this case), even if there's relatively no monetary value associated with it.
