Characters In Need Of Updated Appearances?

Needless to say, there's been a lot of Pop!s over the years, and I think we can all agree that the sculpts get increasingly better as time passes. That being said, a lot of older Pop!s -- even ones that are only a few years old -- are pretty bland, in comparison to what we have now.

My question to you all is, which characters should get new Pop!s of themselves?

Here's a few notable characters on my list, in no particular order (I put a spoiler tag, mostly due to the fact there are several large images that take up a majority of this post. However, an old but still notable spoiler for The Walking Dead is also alluded to):

Abraham Ford from The Walking Dead.

I'm fairly biased when it comes to this one, because my own Pop! of him has very askew eyebrows (and I didn't even notice for quite a while after I bought him). Either way though, I've always wanted to see a Pop! of him just before his final appearance in The Walking Dead -- or at the very least, I'd like to see him in the military uniform he found in the episode "Always Accountable" -- either way, this character is deserving of at least one more Pop! of himself.

Next on my list is Batman (Terry McGinnis) from Batman Beyond.

This version of the Caped Crusader is one of my favorite to date. Say what you will about having too many Pop!s of Batman, but Batman Beyond was one of the first DC Pop!s from back in the day, and let's face it -- it's a pretty lackluster Pop! nowadays. I still like the Pop! a lot, but that's largely due to the fact it was a birthday gift, as well as one of my first Pop!s ever.

As for a unique pose, something like this would look perfect:



Last, but certainly not least is Freeza from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super.

I love Freeza, and I love his Pop!s, too -- but it'd be amazing to see at least one new version of him, both in his usual appearance as well as his Golden form. The level of detail Funko could have on him would be astonishing. It'd be particularly amazing to see him in his iconic stance!

Note: I've edited this post a few times already, mostly just changing the images so that they wouldn't take up as much space. My character choices haven't changed, however!

I will always go more with wizard of oz. Not because they look bad or anything. But because I would love to see how much detail funko would add to those characters. They're all amazing.

Chernabog is my go-to. That one would make an AMAZING six-inch if they did it properly. (Mountain base, more menacing expression). The OG just...looks goofy. And it has legs. Which...no. He's half MOUNTAIN!

The OG Beetlejuice. Black & white suit. If they released a regular sized version of the cereal mini, that would be enough for me! (Though, I still want an "Attention K-Mart Shoppers!" variant, too).

TWO-FACE. It is, frankly, ridiculous that we haven't gotten a SINGLE variation of Harvey Dent, considering he is easily one of the Dark Knight's greatest foes (and my personal favorite!). There are literally so many Joker and freakin' Harley Quinns, and you're telling me we can't even get an Animated Series, Batman Forever or Dark Knight Two-Face? Obviously, I'd love to see a comic-book based one most of all. Classic orange and purple split-suit and green scars. But, I'd even like the Rebirth design by John Romita, Jr. ANYTHING at this point. COME ON, FUNKO. You're seriously dropping the ball.

Wizard of Oz is a great suggestion. I'd love to see a new (affordable) Wicked Witch of the West.

Up until recently, I'd have said CW Flash. But now they've actually given him a running pose! Guess they could STILL do it for Reverse Flash and Zoom. (Though I'd love to see another Unmasked Barry Allen).

I'd really like a new Sauron from LOTR.. just compare the mystery mini to the Pop. It's not bad but could be so much better...and needs to be 6 inch.

But I would take a GITD Eye of Sauron instead...if Funko is taking requests...

At a glance? Not terrible. Funko went through a period where all of their Spidey Pops were just blank heads with painted-on eyes, which resulted in a look that was kinda lazy-looking but infinitely better than attempting the traditional Pop eyes over Spidey's lenses.

Nowadays, of course, Spider-Man Pops are nothing short of incredible. The new eyes are gorgeous and the jumping poses are all super dynamic and fun. When Spidey 2099 - who arguably has one of the most intricate and awesome suits in the Spider-Verse - looks downright bland compared to the others around him, you know that's a problem.

But there's a bigger problem. I would go as far as to call it a glaring, unforgivable flaw in the original 2099 Pop, one that's been bothering me for years, one that Funko needs to address sooner rather than later:



No web cape?!

It's not too late, Funko. Just give us an updated Spider-Man 2099 Pop.

I love a lot of the Disney ones that they've been doing. I really want a new Snow Queen Elsa. With the newer molds' dynamic posing they could do something really great with her. I've always loved this pose. It would be so great if Funko could do something like this. The original's cape didn't have all of the details that the Frozen Fever one does. Also the second run of the original Snow Queen had skin and hair that still weren't light enough to match the character.


I would like a new Pocahontas. A lot of the other princesses have received a redo, but she hasn't. I don't however want her to have the look they use for marketing like they did with the "dancing" princess releases though. As the years go by, the images used to market the princesses look less and less like the characters in their films. The main thing I want to see changed for Pocahontas is that the new one has a darker, more accurate skin tone then the original. The skin tone on her products (Funko and non-Funko) keeps getting lighter over time. I would also like to see Flit included since he is too small to be released as a separate Pop!.

Beast in his formal attire is another that I would like to see especially since we need one to go with the newer mold of Belle in her yellow dress. The Something There Beast looks soooooo much better than the OG Beast, so a new formal attire Beast would be a welcome addition.

The Wizard of Oz could definitely could use do a redo. Even when they came out I wasn't completely happy with them. The two I think that could use the most improvement are Glinda and Scarecrow.

I dig all of the ones that have been mentioned. I’m a wolverine collector and think an updated suit would make sense.

I’d be interested in another Heath Joker. Maybe without the jacket, bloodied, post interrogation.

Rocky would be good, get some variation on the shorts, maybe arms up or some cool pose. A movie moment would be great. plus it helps get ready for Creed pops

Oh man.. Compared to the Spideys that are out now, that one does look like it needs a touchup. I'm not surprised there's no web cape on it since Spidey 2099 doesn't always have it on, but it does look a lot cooler. Funko probably was like nah, they won't take him out of the box, no one will notice hahah.

But in reality I think they need to redo the 3 Bat-villains from long ago in the DC series. Riddler, Penguin, and Two-Face.

It's definitely interesting that we haven't gotten a proper Two-Face Pop! since that initial release way back when. He got two Dorbz releases a couple years back -- a comic version and the version from Batman: The Animated Series... but nothing else.

There's the Two-Face as Batman Pop! and all, but let's be honest -- that was a really obscure line.
