TOONTOWN OF COLLECTEMONIUM [PHOTOS]

Postby COLLECTEMONIUM » Wed Apr 15, 2026 8:16 pm

COLLECTEMONIUM
My real name is John, I'm 20 years old (meaning I missed every last moment of the Wacky Wobbler era). I've been collecting Funko since 2016. I had the kid in the candy store moment with Funko for the first time at Toys-R-Us with their big pop display. I would later see YouTube videos on San Diego Comic Con and the various Funko products there, and soon it began. I bought dozens of pops every year since, somewhere near 800 now. I properly discovered Wobblers through the Funko documentary when it released, but didn't get my first one until 2023. Since then, I've come to prefer Wobblers over any other Funko product for sure. Love the Hanna Barbera ones, the Ad Icons and Cereal Mascots, Looney Tunes, Peanuts, Betty Boop, etc. Many great Wobblers.

In 2025, I began collecting Funko Prototypes. Since I was so late to collecting both Wacky Wobblers & Prototypes, I've been unable to focus on normal production Wobblers, as the prototypes have been my main focus. Since then, I've reached over 50 protos and counting, 13 of them being Wacky Wobblers.

Here's some collection photos

John great post. A very eclectic collection.

Frankly, I'm shocked you're that young. Based on your collection I would have thought you were at least twice as old. You have great taste. Why the interest in Hanna-Barbera?

Thank you Scotty! Much appreciated. You're one of my biggest inspirations in toy collecting. Your Huck collection is unbeatable.

Well a few reasons for the Hanna Barbera interest. Warner Brothers has 2 cartoon channels on TV, one for new shows, and one for old shows. Where I was able to watch a couple HB cartoons like Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, &, Tom & Jerry as a kid. Unfortunately though, in the 2000s, Warner Brother's pulled any cartoon that didn't have the massive success of a Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, etc, so it took awhile for me to find most of the HB library. However thanks to Brian Marriotti's love for Hanna Barbera (and my mom's childhood love for Hanna Barbera too), I was able to discover the variety of HB characters through the Funko Pops that Brian made.

In my opinion, Hanna Barbera (as well as Ad Mascots), are the best characters for Wobblers and Pops, so it became my favorite thing to collect. Super colorful, huge variety of vintage toys too, and Brian went all out with different lines (soda, dorbz, funkovision, spastik plastik, nodniks)

Also, I've always thought older cartoons looked more appealing and beautiful. The decline of cartoons is a massive tragedy.

Oh wow, which ones did you have? If so, its too bad I couldn't find more. I remember your collection being pretty awesome.

Many of my protos came from Wacky Kim, Wilky, Jeff Guerin, John K & various others.

If you ever need to get rid of anymore protos, I know a guy. That guy would be me!
