What were the Fanatic Collectors Series about?

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got a spring. Come inside and chat about Funko Wacky Wobblers (bobble heads, for the less sophisticated).

What were the Fanatic Collectors Series about?

Postby TheLastAnimator » Thu Nov 07, 2019 4:26 pm

I’m a fairly recent fan here, started about 3 years ago, and I’m looking to build up a wacky wobbler collection to coincide with my pops! But as I look through online, I notice many variants of existing wobblers were “Funatic collector series”. Can anyone explain in depth what that means? Were the funatic collector series wobblers, exclusive shop items from back in the day? Or what? Thanks!

You can run a quick search on here to find more information, but here's a quote from another thread.

5) Funko Funatics Collector Series- That's right..every month(hopefully
starting in April) FunKo will release a "Terrific 200" special addition
wobbler available only to FunKo FunKlub Members..these will be
available online and will be announced via email to our members! We
have a great lineup already in the works..so keep an eye out !

One of the older members will hopefully chime in and give you more details though.

There were a lot of these. As you can see, any Wobbler variation was a potential Collector Series selectee.

Some of those, as you can see, were from San Diego Comic Con. The Collector Series, if I remember, was the original Funko Club or like the original Funko Shop. I think there was a different wobbler available each month. Then there were some Freddy's that were available from Lee's Toy Review magazine.

I always love learning new things about Funko history! I spent the other night watching videos and reading stuff on here about Wild Bill's Nostalgia! I also learned about the Lee's Toy Review magazine.

We do have the "Funko Fan Club" now...maybe they'll eventually offer it to those that signed up?

They came out with that survey yesterday too that hinted they were thinking about delving more into loyalty programs. I like that idea a lot!

I know it’s not exactly profitable, but i really think lines like these should continue in limited batches and be opportunities for the Funko artists to really showcase what they can do.

Oooo i never though of it in those terms. Why don’t they just charge a little more for rare stuff? Why let flippers make the dough? Go $30 for retail

The Funatic Collector Series has quickly become some of my favorite wobblers. It is a personal goal to add most of them, especially the Chocolate Glow Count to my collection!
