at the last 2 events my wife got a baseball player each time.

Ha, my wife got a soccer player and we still have no idea which one. The figure has a full beard, spiky hair, and is in the pose where their leg is perched on the ball, and no released figure is the same.

Sometimes going through google images can help to find the correct one. Posting a pic will help as well since Funatic sleuths will be able to kick into action to help you discover which pop it is. Hope you find out which one you have. Oh, and when you do, might I suggest you buy the common version and swap out it out for your proto so you can display it in-box. It'll give context to it since all protos are essentially conversation pieces.

Originally I was thinking it was Mo Salah but the hair looks different on his Pop. I saw other Pops with the same hair but no beard.

a noodle scratcher for sure, i was also going to say Salah is the closest but not quite right the hair looks more like Marquinhos but he only has a goatee and not full beard.

For me, I would love a Proto of any of the Conan Pops! which always remind me of great times had at SDCC.

I actually pulled the conan aquaman proto at NYCC fright night. It prob my all time favorite proto I've ever owned.

Don't feel bad whatsoever! Funko gives out prototypes at their events and social media contests. Its all random so to get on you of your top ISO's you either need to lucky with your pull, trade for it, or straight up buy it. Depending on the character and how popular a particular property is, it could be super pricey. You also want to be cautious if you buy from ebay since a lot of fakes pop up there and if you buy, you want to make sure there's proper lineage with the proto. There's a wonderful FB group called Funko Protos 101 that has many seasoned proto collectors and a bunch of great info/ advice.

I saw one on ebay that was surprisingly cheap but it was multi colored like a orange brown on bottom and the head was white. Does that make them less valued? The one I have is all white that I got from Fundays last year.

Some people like the colorful ones more. I would just advise that you ask a lot of questions before buying off of ebay - there are issues with people putting up scrapper Pops (ones that didn't get colored and were supposed to be thrown away but instead get taken by workers and resold as "protos"). Anyone selling a legit proto should have its history and hopefully be backed by people in the community.

That's fun! Good to know they are out in the world haha. So far only one Proto for me, one of the Dapper Dan's from Disneyland. So by default thats my favorite.

Unfortunately with protos, a low price usually means scam (though sometimes with lesser known franchises you can get some deals). If it's too good to be true it usually is

My most wanted proto is Maleficent in her dragon form - I'd take any of the current varientions. I was lucky enough to get the Chase 3 liter soda version of her last year and i think the proto of that would be amazing. I also like all her other dragon forms including the original Disney Treasures version. This is an impossible dream / wish, but it's always fun to think about it!

Oooh this kind of chat is always fun. There was an old thread for it once upon a time and I think a few people were lucky enough to make some matches in heaven.

My biggest proto wish is to complete my vinyl My Little Pony proto collection. I am missing 2 white and 5 color protos from that line and it's my longest running goal. I've been collecting them for ten years!
But otherwise my biggest proto wish is probably either Yuki from "Fruits Basket" (which is an anime) or Buckbeak from Harry Potter.
