I got one box on Thursday with the BP promo card. I don't care for the card designs at all but figured the promo card and the redemption would more or less get me value equal to the $205 retail price. I thought the cards using the newer box arts looked better. The older, fatter, squatting looking pop designs just look bad in card form even though I like them in actual pop form. Overall, not impressed and will likely not buy anymore. Unless they release something special for NYCC or SDCC next year and I can build the price into my con budget.

I felt the same way with this. Got a box on Thursday like you with the Black Panther promo card. After seeing the cards, I just wasn't impressed. I'm not sure what I expected. I think I was hoping for some of the fun that Funko has with their NFTs in this physical card space. Like - put the characters into zany backgrounds. Don't just show me a stock image of a funko pop. Am I alone here?

I would be open to getting these next year if they make some changes. Otherwise, this is a one-and-done for me.

Not gonna lie the clear cards are pretty sweet. I got one and love it. The glow in the dark is okay. The signature and convention exclusive ones do not impress me at all. I would rather have the much more common gold or silver version versus the character's name written across the character or in the right bottom corner words that say "convention exclusive" when it isn't that. Weird.

But that clear card is magnificent.......

They are parallels. The /99 is the confetti, my /10 is the red glitter but it doesn’t look like glitter or foil background. More like just a red background.

I had a friend grab me a box at SDCC so I could give it to my niece. I got it tonight and called to tell her, thinking she’d be really excited since she loves Marvel and Funko. Not even a little bit interested.

I don’t collect Marvel but can’t let them just sit here, so I guess I’m opening a box tonight.

Just my opinion but it being funko, I think those were shill bids and a fake sale to up the value and the hype of these cards. There’s way better 1:1 cards from different companies/fandoms and none of them sell for anywhere that close. I could be wrong but I wouldn’t put it past some of the funko flippers.

That’s what I heard too but the back of the card is pretty vague. Plus if every box has a redemption there’s got to be 1000s of them. I wonder if there’s various pops they send. Or just send random stock.

I love the trading card idea and it’s fun to see it coming to fruition!!

I can only hope we’ll see other licenses jump in along with a redemption exclusive that is actually a fun different mold!

Dream would be a Star Wars line of Funko trading cards!

Unless I misunderstand the breakdown. It says only one card of 101-150 per pack. So one box mean 24 card 101-150. And I have opened my boxes and it is confirmed one card between 101-150 per pack opened. Its a bit unnecessary. But otherwise I like them a lot. Lot of description of the character on the back of the card and some cool special cards. If you get them. Not a big fan of the confetti card though.

I still haven't opened my second box. I might try and trade it for a Freddy. Since it sounds like all the redemptions are the same Captain America figure (although there is a chance at a chase so I guess that ups the odds for the chase) I haven't felt the burning need to open it yet.

They don't seem to be the popular at all? Haven't sold out from any retailers I've seen them on and Hot Topic/Box Lunch already running sales on the m to try and move them...
