Kind of bummed out about this. I really liked paying the cash upfront and knowing I was guaranteed a box every two months. Now who knows :/

I feel there was a certain connection with other Funatics (annual subscribers) through this program which I will miss.

I hope that when they sell them at retail stores that it won't be ridiculous!

I know, I am curious to see what the middle man mark-up will do to the retail prices.
Be great too if whoever picks them up (hopefully all under one roof) would continue the subscription model and not sell them on a la cart basis.

I agree it would be nice to see a subscription box vs the a la cart style.

I was bummed to see I got charge normal price for LOC sub, but I can go back in and buy another for 10 bucks less.

It was yesterday but I think it was a mistake because today they are all $15. I know a lot of people are writing to try and get credits or refunds on the difference.

They raised the price on the boxes they listed on funk-shop.com but then discounted the past boxes to $15 in the individual sub box sites for existing/previous members. Odd tactic, obviously they are looking to clear out old stock. I do hope the new $35 price point is not meant to reflect the new retail partner price point going forward.

Thanks for the clarification. I have to admit $35 is a bit steep for me, then add on shipping we are looking at min. $40

Same here! I kind of felt special. I actually collected the pins (Smuggler's Bounty) and even got a Star Wars lanyard to put them on. I'm definitely on the hunt for the rest of the other ones.

i heard they were left with a whole bunch of boxes in inventory, so not too profitable.

i dont think they should limit the boxes to subscribers. if you subscribe to one box, you should have access to buy past boxes from another box brand.

I think they were starting to get better about only producing enough (and maybe some extra for buffer) to match subscribers, but probably too little too late.

This made me very sad when I got the email, but I can't imagine with all the hate they get on social media and what a logistical nightmare it must be that they have too much incentive to keep it going w/o some sort of change.

This news made me so sad because I live in the boonies so I don't get out to the malls/stores and order pretty much all online. So receiving the boxes always made my day
So I agree - I hope they are not too difficult/eBay-scalper bait only. Hopefully there are plenty to go around!

I'm just hoping he don't have clunky stock issues with whichever retailers get them. Pretty much every retailer except for hot topic and maybe gamestop has bungled something recently. I hope part of the deal with these will be that all stores have them and put them on shelves at about the same time.

It would be nice if they actually figured out a way to make stores wait and release them all on the same day instead of Coast waves and then into the Midwest.

Yes, funko releases should follow in the footsteps of movies, games, and music. Specific release dates where they are available without fail everywhere at the same time. One can dream, right?
