These soda cans look Naked with out the number count.

The reason it's backwards is because they had to get people to buy them and if they are limited more people would buy them. Personally I don't think these will sell at big box stores like target and Walmart because people will just open them and only buy the chase. Saw a couple Arwen sodas at Barnes and Noble and all were opened.
Agreed on your take of the big stores and I did see open sodas at a GameStop so your about that as well.
Agree, that's what's gonna happen. So what will happen is that they get locked up or opened ones end up in the clearance aisle.

So sodas are the new mystery minis. So frustrating when you get lucky enough to find some in store, but they've been open and picked over before you got there.

I believe that’s where sodas are headed. Let the frustration begin.

I've actually appreciated not being able to find sodas in store so I don't have to deal with that. What I get shipped is what I get shipped! But then BL started having sodas.... for the Faye / Cowboy Bebop sodas, at least half of them were opened returned online orders before I even made it to the store. I choose not to buy any in store from that store, since I really couldn't trust any of them!
DougieFresh_83 wrote:Sad to see the limited number go, but I'm sure there will still be limited numbers for exclusives, Conventions, and events.
This is probably for more bigger releases to make it easier for international collectors to get these.

Agreed and you bring up an excellent point on trusting stores with sodas. I do purchase online as well. So we are on the same boat.

Definitely going to be interesting to watch when Target and Walmart start getting in their exclusive sodas. I've noticed Walmart at least seems to have a locked case close to the collectibles section, but all I can see Target doing is leaving them at the electronics counter? Probably won't be able to trust Target if that's their plan! Or maybe they'll sell online only, and we'll know that anything in store is a return! I think we're always in the same boat.

Electronics counter for the WIN! Still don't really want to go there for sodas though, I've seen too many sketchy returns to trust anything that is a 'mystery' type Funko product.

Agreed and in all honesty you shouldn’t bother with sodas in Target and these other big stores. I’ve heard stories.

I might've been one of the people telling the stories!
I'm very surprised though that the store exclusive sodas don't have an LE count. I get their new model of no count for the big blockbuster stuff, but if it's a store exclusive surely that's a limited run? But I just checked my Zombie hunter Spidey order, and it looks like it doesn't have a count. How odd! We're apparently in a whole new world....or at least, another universe. Is this how we end up in the multiverse?

I think I saw an LE count on the newly announced Marty McFly, so maybe it's just sodas of current blockbusters, or something like that? Who knows? As long as they keep making fun figures, I'm in....but maybe not quite so many while chasing the chase!

I believe the main reason that store exclusives aren't going to have LE is so when something sells out super fast and is selling for alot on the secondary market they can just make more. With an LE you can't do that.

Whoa… that’s a whole lot to take in. I strongly believe that the no count LE sodas will not last for ever. I see them just sitting there and nobody purchasing them.

That makes perfect sense, but I also wonder - is the driving force on sodas the collectability in addition to the awesome character? I know with the LE, I'm making myself do a one-and-done, whereas with the LE I might buy more if I strike out for a chase I really want. They've done a variation of LE with the mystery minis - the ratios and store exclusives make it MUCH harder to find those higher ratio minis. I'm just surprised they're changing up the 'model' with the sodas and store exclusives.

Agreed, I think store exclusive sodas will end up being relatively low LEs eventually - not low by Fundays standards, but compared to a common release low.
toro423 wrote:I feel like the Le was the draw for the soda. The excitement of the chase/low Le is what makes ppl buy multiples. Open edition takes away from the “limitedness” which I feel will cause ppl to buy less and just buy the slightly more expensive chase on eBay, etc. who knows

It's too expensive to even buy cases anymore, you are gonna spend at least $90 just on the sodas without shipping and most chases go for around 60 to 80. And you will have a hard time selling the commons as most won't buy them if there isn't a chance of a chase.
