Just my opinion, but I think Soda has had a more successful run than Dorbz. I definitely think Soda has staying power and hope they stick with it.

I agree with you. I also like the Sodas and they are a nice supplement to the standard Funko Pops. I prefer the Sodas to the larger Deluxe or bigger Pops.

Totally agree with you, there's still so much potential left, especially chasing for the "chases." I hope it doesn't go away.

You’re not wrong, there’s a lot more allure with sodas

So far I can be marked safe from all the Jar Jar Funko products, soda or otherwise. And it's great to know that there's somewhere I can pass them to if need be, to keep my collection Jar Jar free!

Re: Rumors of a Soda wind-down
Well I'm not sure about everyone's experience the amount of sodas ive seen in major retailers have gone done and even if i do see them they're open. The lost cost must not be appealing to retailers. My thoughts is that they might be faced out in retail stores but events like cons they will still be there.

Not too surprised to hear. The no count pieces I thought was a first sign of trouble.
I am a fan of the coolers though and Freddy limited edition ones. Would love some Franny ones to go with before they stop sodas!
I have stopped almost all soda collecting and moved on from almost all of my not Freddy’s recently so makes sense to me.

I really like sodas from the lines I collect but I hope they still produce them maybe not as many. One of my favorite lines other than regular pops

If they keep Sodas as a special item at Cons/Events as a keepsake, that’d be cool. Though I have seen a decline as well, I just don’t think the interest is there like it used to.

I hope they don’t remove sodas completely. I like the soda line and if they just went back to a piece count that would help it a lot more. The no piece count really was what hurt the line overall.

One of the main reasons it seems is that people cant afford a lot of soda's. Speaking from a international view they cost $30+ down here because of the shipping weight ect make them very unaffordable.
Another reason people think and i think could be a strong contender is because bitty's are outselling them. There cheaper, ezyer to display and also strike the minature market.
If this ends up being true how does it make you feel?
I feel like I’ve seen far less than a few years ago. There’s just so much and some of us collectors are running out of space LOL

Shipping containers is not that expensive we do it all the time. No way that would make the retail be double

I know the feeling. I started to get rid of pops so I can make room for sodas but over all the sodas are easy to store.

I think once they removed the le from sodas alot of interest went away. Plus collectibles are just down as a whole right now I think with the economy so Id wager the line wasn't doing well for them as a whole. Which is a shame because its really the only other line I collect from pops and a couple wobblers.

Definitely agree with the interest of sodas going away after the LE was removed. I found myself not wanting to buy them anymore and started focusing more on pops.

Yeah. I was in love with collecting all the Marvel soda's trying to get the chase but if not happy to get a common to have the entire MCU assembled on my TV stand.

I hope that isn't the case as it's the only product other than Pops that have really taken off for the company, maybe they can go back to limiting them like they did in the beginning. I believe the fiasco of cans having different piece counts for international collectors.

Also the price needs to go back to $12. I think the low price point was a another factor of it selling very well in the beginning

That was the biggest turn-off when they decided to sell them to big retailers. They need to keep it a small, mom-and-pop shop and also bring the piece count limit back down.

I think they should go back to how it was when it was first released. Limited numbers. Smaller market. Just produce enough to break even and make a small profit.

I like the sodas and still buy a few. The one thing I don't like are people who sell a chance at chase on sealed cans when they already pulled it from a case

Agreed, $18 a can when most cans have chases is not sustainable long term...the cost has probably played a large factor into the communities attitude towards Sodas.

There's a new Shrek Hot Topic Exclusive soda which makes me happy at least they're still making neat exclusives!
The $18 price though makes me poop myself and not pick it up but that's another story

Nope, not your imagination. This was from Funko’s Press and Investors Event in September 2022. And I think the first SODAs were released sometime around ECCC 2020.
Dang I forgot about this! super cute, but probably not cost effective nowadays sadly...
I hope they continue sodas, but the cost of 1 soda just got to be too much. Maybe if they cut the scale down they could make it a $9.99 item versus $15-19 that the exclusives go for...

I wish they would keep on doing sodas I thought Funko was doing well with them just the high Le ones, no Le, and international were hurting them. Hopefully they still do the lower Le ones like they started with.
With the cost of living rise and everything i think sales were being effected state side to. I know down here it costs $30 for a basic one so its priced itself out of the easy collector markett.
Around me it’s $15-18 just sucks that even with these price increases they make very high Le’s that don’t completely sell.
