Are NFT Drops done?

Postby Relinquish » Tue Sep 09, 2025 12:37 am

I been seeing some rumors that Funko might be done with the NFT space / dropp releases. I'd have to say that I would be disappointed because we've seemed to get some of the best molds from the NFT drops and the exclusivity of them has been exciting to chase. Just curious what others may have heard or if you all think NFTs might be done.

I can't find it now, but earlier this morning I saw a message on the Droppp Discord saying that the team had layoffs but it was still business as usual. They didn't say if that business is shipping Pops and running Arcade, or if it means more drops.

If it does mean no more drops then Arcade season 3 should be a bloodbath because there is no reason to save points for the future.

I don't typically believe anything those 'influencers' say..But has been pretty quiet...

Droppp just announced that Arcade season 3 is being cancelled. If that's not a sign that they are shipping out the remaining Pops and then shutting down, I don't know what is.

yeah, that's a massive bummer.. would of liked to see it around a little longer. I wonder if the costs were just too high but they seemed to have moved to a more exclusive model with lower LEs so you would think the NFTs/Dropp was perfect for that approach to releases

Some sad news. I have only been purchasing from Dropp lately so pretty bummed about the news.

Seems like it. I was holding out hope, but that season three news all but confirms it in my eyes. They'll keep a small skeleton crew onboard to make sure the final redemptions run smoothly and are delivered then it's time to close the doors.

It's a real shame. This has been my favorite aspect of Funko for the last four years. I'll miss the drop days, hanging out with the community online, and eagerly refreshing to see what the next drop is. It's a shame too because I think this program is leagues better than the Limited Edition program that the community seems to be super hyped about. Funko didn't do a good enough job advertising and explaining how this all works. Many collectors still didn't realize these were real, physical Pops and the others wrote off the project right away because "NFT" was attached. A lot of people never took the time to learn how the process works and hated it from the start when in reality it was so simple and a lot of these Pops were very accessible, no pack opening or "gambling" required. The work put into the digital cards and sculpts for the redeemables was incredible. We really got some amazing characters, designs, and Freddy's out of this project. I feel for everyone's whose jobs were affected, and I know they'll go on to do great things. Been an emotional day today coming to terms with this all being over. I had a great time.

This is sad. I still think Funko NFT is a really good way of getting LEs and sad that they gotta be gone so soon

I don't own many of the NFT's (no room) but have seen all of the NFT's and they are amazing, so I am sad to see this line end.

I hope not. If anything, I hope the release schedule is just being reduced. The bad thing about that is there’s less chances of there being a drop you’re interesting in.

I'm really hoping that NFTs will continue on with us. It's been a roller coaster, that's for sure! I came into it later than I should've, but I've enjoyed the ride. Probably spent more than I should, but I regret nothing! (and also, that's just Funko for us, right?) I do think the Arcade could come to an end, but regular NFT drops continue, and that's what I'll be hoping for. I was never going to win anything via the arcade, anyway! lol

I am good with no more NFT's, I didn't like the entire system. However, what does this mean for those holding them in their drop accounts? Do they need to move them somewhere else?

It kinda seems like they moved from NFTs to the higher priced "Limited Edition" style drops.

Still waiting to hear about the Catwoman NFT. I'm am not sure the new system for getting exclusives is better, but it's like anything Funko seems to do...they will try it for a while until some other new idea comes along.

I liked the nft aspect and the community but from a business standpoint I definitely understand the shift.

Dang. That's a big bummer. Although, I was not buying as many drops as I use to. I've trailed off on Funko all around over the last 1.5 years. Seems like the company is cutting back all around and NFTs are just the latest casualty. Won't be the last.
