On Reddit, someone said you don't need to play as Colonel Sanders but you do need the chicken. I didn't want to risk it, so I got them all.

Thats good to know.

Well, it looks like Funko Fusion was a bomb. The developer announced layoffs due to the performance of the game. A real shame, it was a fun game and they seemed to be learning from their mistakes and making improvements. A sequel or some DLC would have been welcome.

My kids loved this game. I really hope they still do keep with their plans to release some DLC so that I can still play the game together with them :(

I mean.... all they launched was free skins... $$$ skins... maybe one level with characters (i don't think this is true)?... a co-op mode that was free and produce 0 NEW content... so yeah, they're just hemorrhaging money for 0 content. they needed to focus more on selling new content

This happened with Disney Infinity back in the day too.. they sold new characters/toys after launch, but these characters didn't solve a problem in the game or didn't come with new content. So, if you had beaten the game already and these characters came out... it just didn't make sense to buy the new character(s).

Lego games worked well enough because each content they sold was a combo character+level

Can't blame Funko for trying to expand their brand/universe. They had the right idea imo but it's always hard for brands to cross over into different formats and this needed to be a home run and it wasn't sadly :(

It really felt like it had potential, especially when the video promos came out. It's a shame it couldn't launch into something sustainable. Continuously adding to the game/making a connection to prizes like nft, etc. would have really boosted it's popularity.

I went to the panel for this at SDCC and thought it looked great, even though I'm not a big gamer. Bummer to hear things not going well for it.

Its seems super tough to stand out in the video game world this day. Given the amount of time and money to develop these games, it's kinda heartbreaking to see it not catch on.

Just finished my sixth level! All I have left is Jurassic World and then to get some of the random crowns I have missed. I heard you should collect 5 million Vinyl - is this accurate?

I think it released too early because they were months into release and still were working on bugs, no crossplay for all levels and were not yet available on two platforms with the biggest install base (PS4 and Switch). I already purchased it on Xbox was waiting to buy again physically on Switch - which I assumed was delayed until it was feature complete and in a more stable state.

Still won't never be mad at the game for giving me 5 Scott Pilgrim levels.

Yeah, unfortunately, it would had to had a broader appeal to the general public, especially kids. I felt that the majority of reviews were Funko collectors, who had great things to say. The video game market is brutal sad to say.

Agreed, the panel was good last year and I was optimistic about the game. But so much out there competing for people's attention with social media, tablets, etc this game had an uphill battle to break into the gaming/entertainment market. Probably woulda done better if it had came out in in 2020/2021 during the Covid gaming boom when people were inside for so long.

Very brutal, its hard to develop new IP /game styles and break through the mold with young kids when its not Minecraft of Fortnite, and Funko Fusion had too big of a hill to climb sadly.

It's just crazy the grip on gaming just a few things have like Minecraft and Fortnite among teens and preteens. Obviously there are lots of other players, but it's really hard to break into that audience even with established IP.

I was at the panel as well! It had so much more potential than I initially thought it would. Unfortunately with video games the market space is SO tough to keep up in. Was really rooting for Fusion to continue on

I wonder if we will ever see the original characters again. I was hoping for a Foxxo Pop and I thought for sure we would see more Eddy Pops, but it looks like the game not doing well ended that. The characters were still a lot of fun.

I have 100% in the game and the platinum trophy on PS5, so there is nothing left for me to do lol

I was hoping for more DLC with levels and trophies but it's not gonna happen.
