This is awesome I can't wait to see how this goes. If they do this right, I think this could really help the secondary market. Then at that point, it could be worth holding strong on the price for your duplicates of lets say epics, legendaries, and grails because their value could hold or even climb after redemption.

I think this is a brilliant move. If gives new life into the nfts that many would consider worthless, except for any completest out there.

Never considered this! That would be a good marketing move for them and I would be happy to see more attention on the NFT scene.

Funko has made good use of NFTs, actually useful to reward fans that still want low-count pieces

That would be very cool if there was an SDCC angle to this. Whatever they do - it's definitely going to bring some good excitement to this product line and hopefully increased value too.

The cool thing about NFTs is how you can reward people for ownership and it can't be cheated/gamed as a system.

Mike Becker showed the Funko SDCC layout during the C2E2 panel and there wasn't a place for Droppp. It could always change but it wasn't part of the plans we were shown.

I totally forgot about that, it can possibly be in Games if Games has a spot again.

Definitely sounds interesting and finally gives some utility
Hopefully its gameified so its not just whoever holds the most old nfts always wins. Something with a burn mechanic could be cool.

It says “post redemption inventory”, that could mean only ones that could be redeemed so all physicals or they worded it poorly and it means your whole inventory.

Nah, I think it'll be a lottery type system for additional funkos, i.e. convert the NFTs into "arcade" tokens to win stuff. So even if you bought more NFTs, feels like you would just be gambling at the chance for something so not worth the extra cost to buy on the marketplace. However, if it was a chance to win fundays tickets then I'd definitely be tempted to buy more :-k

Ya - the possibilities are endless, but I'm not gonna mess with it. No matter what they do, I'll be happy with some utility for the Funko NFTs I have. And I think it will be great extra incentive to collect going forward. I know most people are rightfully obsessed with the redeemables - but I really like the art and animation they have on the NFTs. Makes them fun and unique.

Agreed, any utility with the post-redemption NFTs is a step in the right direction. I am glad they are listening to the fans and advancing the platform to get more people aboard :)

I am not sure how hard I am going to go on this with my extra NFTs because like you can burn all these NFTs and then someone can just pass you at the last minute and all those NFTs burned are wasted in a way.

So you have to burn your NFTs to get the points? I can't see anyone burning 1:1s, and I know I would not want to burn anything Epic or higher.

I do really love the Freddy prize, though. I used to collect every single royalty (the first one I missed was Steven Universe and that was 30+ drops in I think) and I never sold or burned cards after redemption, but I still don't think I stand a chance of being top 333.
