Back in late 2024, I went in on buying Beau's (clashcityrocker33) complete Plastik collection with Stephen (Squird), Renard (renardchua), Brett (Caseyjones14), and Nick (CollectorBadger). We drafted the items in early January of 2025 like football picks. I ended up with a healthy amount of MvsR and some Comic Con Plastiks.

At the end of the month, my box was delivered to my house in South Minneapolis by UPS. They decided to not drop the box off at my side door like normal and the package was lifted within 5 minutes of them dropping it off at 4:30 pm (my security cameras had a 5 minute deadband for recording). I got home a little after 5 pm and was shocked when I did not see my package... hindsight would of been to have signature, but UPS used to ALWAYS put the packages behind my fence. I was out around ~$1000 from the mistake, but it honestly felt even worse knowing that I lost 1/4 of Beau's collection he worked so hard on.
I spent a lot of time contacting shops and stopping in to leave my number and the above picture of all the items. All to no avail... until I looked on reddit at r/minneapolis a couple days later. Someone posted that they had a T-Shirt stolen about 2 miles from my house and the perpetrator left behind some weird gorilla figure...

I messaged the poster and met up with them the following Saturday and got 1 of my 25 items back.
Gorilla Secured!
Everything was quiet after that, except for gracious collectors like Nick who gifted me the Pink Gorilla and Blue Dictator.. also generous artists like Derrick LogLog and Vinnie Fiorello who allowed LogLog to recast the gold and blue metallic gorillas. I was also able to purchase the LE 5 Flocked Space Monkey from Wacky Kim at a reasonable price!
BIG FAST FORWARD
I was working in Houston starting October 18th of 2026 and while I was waiting in the hotel lobby for my coworker, I decided to look at my eBay flags and saw a Pink GITD Gorilla.... within 5 miles of my zipcode! Weird coincidence, so I clicked onn the seller (JALSO HOLDINGS LLC / jowat-3839) and started seeing a lot of MvsR items and a few Plastiks... all of them matching what was stolen from my house. I messaged the seller and told him my situation.. he kindly ended the listings of all the items. I gave him the police report and my legal name and he agreed to meet with me when I got back from Houston.
October 24th, 2026- I met Jon (JALSO) at a local grocery chain where he showed me the box of items. He told me he got them out of 10' x 20' storage unit off the highway by my house he bought for $80. He didn't want any money or anything, just for me to have my collection back. I gifted him the GITD Pink Gorilla and Flocked Space Monkey out of gratitude and for him to still sell since I owned them thanks to friends.
One downside is he sold 4 items before I could get ahold of him (Pictures of the sales in the spoiler section)-
