Question.
We've talked about our vinyl toys 'sweating' on occasion. I have some of the Monkey Assassins (pop box, shadow, the redux and the Crazy 88's) that I left in their packaging only to find out that they have 'sweated' inside the packaging and I now have sticky monkey syndrome. I've taken them out of the tubes to let them breath, but I still have some stickiness and blotchy finishes. Also, two of my pop monkeys the blue and the green have discolored slightly where their heads came into contact with the plastic in the box.
Any suggestions for dealing with a sticky monkey?
And yes, I know this leaves me wide open for a lot of jokes.

MMM, sounds like you have the curse of the obongo wongo running loose in your burgh! Take generous amounts of dung beetle droppings, mix with a smidgen of ant brains, sprinkle in a mudpuddle at the local 7-11 at dawn, then jump up and down in the puddle screaming "I hate my mother" in your best falsetto voice. You will probably never see a sweaty monkey again.

not sure what to do about the finishes. I would not try anything other than soap and water. Any chemical will likely damage the plastic in the long run. I went to move a couple of glows and the cases just came apart when I tried to move them. I live in a high humidity area and the condition you describe has happened to some toys here due to condensation in the cases. I do think it best to open the cases once every 2-3 months and check for condensation. At least in this part of the world.

I started this whole mess by opening new pieces and taking them out of their packaging for a week or two to let them adjust beginning with a Blue Lantern Uni-Formz figure. I noticed that the parts didn't stick so much and the paint seemed to 'stabilize'. It didn't look greasy or wet. That got me looking at older figures so I started a rotation. Had no issues with older Funko or spastiks...just this batch of monkeys.
I might pick a sacrifice and wash with soap and water. Then I'll follow the voodoo recipe above.
