How large are the Spooky Kookys?

Postby Aratak » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:14 pm

I like the look of them, but I don't know how hard I'll pursue them. Are they more wobbler sized or spastik plastik size? They look delightfully chunky in some photos, but I'm not really sure!

They're a little bit bigger than Spastiks. I really wanted them to do well since I like little skull figure. When they cancelled the second wave I dumped everything but the Gold suit El Rey. I keep thinking I might track down another Rey and paint him up myself and bling him all out.

The only reservation I had with the line was the quality control. The paint aps were a bit sloppy, especially on the Symptoms.

I though the were smaller that the spastik but I will check when I get home, the symptoms are larger. If you take your time you can find them cheap

They're chunkier, but about the same height (I'm looking at them now.)

Rev's right about price. Should you decide to track them all down, it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I already mentioned this elsewhere, but the Symptoms figure I got is like 1.5 times the size of a spastik. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller.

I never really liked the Symptoms, but did like the Spooky Kookys. That is the only complete line of Flapjack toys that I have. They are bigger than Spastiks, but not by much. You can find them on Ebay for a good price.

I think the paint apps may have hurt this line a bit. They really have a rushed look. Far away they aren't so bad, but up close you can see the flaws. I still love'em though. And, as stated before you can get them for a reasonable price.

I LOVE the boxes they come in. They are made to look like the old halloween costume boxes with the celephane on the front. This is one of my favorite lines and I wished they would come out with series two because the concept art looked awesome! Oh well! Get 'em John!

Sometimes I'm as thick as a brick. It actually took me a few years to make the connection between Kooky's boxes with Ben Cooper's costume boxes. I applaud you people who got it from the start. Way to uphold that torch of nostalgia!

I remember talking to Mike Becker ex wife (I don't remember her name) at con and she told me she was trying to create a second series and have it ready for SDCC 2012. Not sure but Ron might know something.
