The Toughest Funko Decision I've Ever Made

Postby Scotty » Thu Jan 23, 2014 5:43 pm

Like the title says, this was the toughest decision I've made as a collector of Funko. But I finally took my "set them free" mentality to my Bobble Breeze  I've been keeping them in the bubble packs because it seemed to be the collector thing to do, but I was having a serious problem displaying them.

With my display space quickly filling up, I made the decision to pull them out of the packaging so they could fit on my last available shelf in my new display cabinets. The only ones I didn't have the heart to open were the three University Bobble Breezes which were never mass produced. Now that they're set up, I'm VERY happy with my decision. I'm not collecting for future value and they look a lot better (to me) displayed free-standing. Guess it's a good thing I'm happy with my decision cuz it's kind of hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube once it's out :D

And here's the complete set of production Bobble Breezes (some of them are pretty hard to see, but they're there)

That looks great! I'm very much an out of the package advocate so welcome to the club! It frees up so much space and gives so many more options for displaying. Enjoy!

Great display Scott. What's the height on those. Is taller than the mini pops?

I can understand that tough decision. I've been saving all of my Pop boxes and I finally put many of them in the recycler.

they range from around 3-1/2 inches on the short end to 5 inches or so. Additionally, they all bobble, so they're very similar to the mini-Wobblers in size.

It actually does smell pretty good. I took the scent disks out of them, but the smell had permeated the vinyl so there's still a lot of air freshening going on.

Seeing the photo, I agree that you made the perfect decision. It's a decision I could never have made, but the display justifies it. You are a brave and wise man. I tip my citrus, cinnamon, and lemon-scented hat to you.

I'm working on it Jacob. My project to install the new cabinets has taken waaaaaaay longer than I wanted. The cabinets are all up and filled to the brim, but I need to do the trim work. And I didn't want to post pics until I got all the Spastik and PoP and artwork put up as well.

The reason I didn't like these was because the air fresheners didn't smell at all to me. Even from day one.

You do what you have to do. I can only imagine how you felt as you opened up the packages for the University BBs.

I have some that I've opened, and others on the cards hanging on a peg board. Same with sitters.

It's all good.

Looks awesome! I'm an out of box collector and, sometimes, I've thought I made a mistake. Then, I realized that these are my collectibles and they are going no where. I want to see them, not cardboard. Though, the boxes are pretty awesome!

Well, you are a serious "in the box" collector.

I'm with you Jeanne, I really do like being able to see the whole piece, but I like the look of the Bobble Breeze packaging too. Unfortunately, opening the larger bubble packs does quite a bit of damage to the cards. I was able to save a bunch of the cards which I used as a backdrop on the shelf.
