The Hobbit plushies

Funko has gone soft on us! Soft as in plush toys that is, so grab a comfy toy or two and come talk to us about them. Plushes, Fabrikations, and Mopeez, oh my!

The Hobbit plushies

Postby Asylum Hollywood » Fri Sep 28, 2012 10:12 pm

I'm really surprised there's no thread for these here.

They're being released early October, last I heard. A plush Bilbo Baggins, a plush Gandalf the Grey & a plush Gollum. Three plush characters to usher in the epic Hobbit film that comes out later this year.

Here's an image I made for a blog entry elsewhere:

They look pretty awesome to me; especially the Gandalf one. I'll be picking up a small supply of each when they're released.

So has noone else heard about these? :alien:

Seen these online, they look cool. I am
Just unsure if there is many plush collectors.

Yes, Chris. I've noticed the Plushie forum here doesn't seem to get as much love as the others. :-/

Also just noticed that there's been no mention of the Edward Scissorhands plushie coming out mid-October.

I sure hope plushies aren't passé, now. [-o<

I'm diggin' the Gandalf one, in particular. On top of his staff, I found he also has his epic sword Glamdring half-hidden under his robes.

...or maybe he was just happy to see me...

I'm here to give the plushie forum some love!

I ordered these from Barnes & Noble as soon as they were released - didn't want to miss out on them and have to pay a premium on Ebay like the Lord of the Rings plushies go for now  I did manage to snag the LOTR set (all 4, still new in plastic bags) for about $50 on Ebay not too long ago. I've seen auctions where they want several hundred bucks for them which seems outrageous to me!

Anyone think they'll release anymore for the next 2 Hobbit movies?

No sign of new plushies for Desolation of Smaug, so not looking promising :( There's the potential for another great series of 3 for this movie and There and Back Again too -- maybe Thorin, Azog, and Bard? Legolas already got a good one for LOTR (although they did make a Gandalf plushie for both lines), but Tauriel would make a good one too...or Radagast!

(I know this likely won't happen, just wishful thinking :D)
