I have definitely given them as gifts, but I don't think I have converted anyone. Though I was definitely converted.

I've gifted 5 pops, and 4 of the ppl that received them went on to create their own large collections. Those 4 love/hate me for it, haha. The 5th is still blissfully ignorant of our hobby exploits.

It actually wasn't a certain pop, it was the people. I know that sounds a bit weird but my friend was really into them so I had a few that I got here and there, but then I started going to events and I was hooked. Now when I get them at places I have stories that go with them.

They do make good con souvenirs, especially if you can get the exclusives.

I usually pass out POPs for special occasions at work. It's cool to see how different co-workers enjoy them. In terms of conversion - I got few folks to start collecting but not a Funatic level.

Got my 2 brother-in-laws into collecting. One is hardcore now with a crazy collection while the other gets a few here and there. I also converted one into comic conventions and he tags along with me to SDCC and NYCC. He was even my +1 for Fright Night and now he wants to be my +1 for Fundays LOL

One of my employees at work had no idea what Pops are until I mentioned them when we were talking about Schitt’s Creek. We are having a work event next month and I am giving him my extra common David and Funko Shop Moira, so let’s see if that inspires him to keep going.

I work for Disney and I have bought a few coworkers some Pops of characters they love like Orange Bird and Figment…. And now I see in their offices, that their collection has grown. Makes me smile knowing it’s entirely my fault! lol

At my moms job at a hospital we give out pops all the time to anyone and everyone to spread the love. She keeps a bunch of extras in her office to give them away. Her co-workers call me all the time to help them with specific pops now.

I give pops but nobody who is not already a collector has kept going. My closest friends only have a few to none and I can see their eyes gloss over when I talk about collecting.

I got a friend of mine a Captain America one like 6 years ago. Fast forward to 2021, he’s added only a few of the dinosaurs from Jurassic World to his collection and he FINALLY boarded the MCU train (but not the pops). Fast forward to January 2023, I sent him a few pics of MCU/Disney+ pops I just got. He mentioned he wanted one pop of this or that, but didn’t make a big deal of it. Fast forward to April and now he’s texting me haul pics, pics from collector shows, pics from huge pop stores at his local mall, etc. I’m trying to get him to be patient when building his collection because I can tell he’s getting pretty into it suddenly.
Hey, I’m Alan!

A friend of mine had a few pops, and since I go to SDCC every year they were suddenly everywhere. My collection is way bigger than my friend's (she stopped collecting). I've gifted various people pops. My mom started her own collection.

Honestly, not really. I've gifted a POP! based on the recipient's interests and hope they genuinely like it. It's cool when you get the reaction of "Oh, I didn't know they made a POP! of this. That's cool!" If they get interested in collecting then I'm very willing to give them pointers and tell them more about the hobby and the community.
