I have stepped back from autograph collecting, but at the C2E2 next year I am finally going to have Ashley Johnson sign my Last of Us Ellie Pop. I’m just debating if I should also have her sign Pike from Critical Role.

Still wish I got Hayden Panettiere to sign a Kairi pop at C2E2 last year. Totally forgot she was going to be there

Do you guys prefer to have the auto directly on the pop? I personally like the boxed autos better but I've seen some get signed directly on the pops

On the window of the box. Seems kind of hard to get a good auto on a smaller, detailed surface of a pop. Plus it’s more visible when it’s on the box. The only exception I’d make is for a pop with a decent flat surface like Prince Robot from Saga.

Is that the only CR pop you have or will you feel compelled to finish the set? I screwed myself over getting Neil Newbon to sign something from BG3 and now the rest feels incomplete lol.

I have them all and originally my plan was to get them all signed, but I'm not sure if that makes sense financially. But I also know if I just get Ashley and Laura to sign theirs, I will have to do the others lol

I have several autographed pops, but the ones I got personally autographed mean the most to me. They usually come with a great memory or story, and that's what make me treasure them.

I prefer signed pops of actual people like getting pops signed by Bob Gurr, Stan Lee (RIP), or athlete. Maybe even a creator of that media.

If you were going to get an animated character, should you get the original voice actor, the dubbed voice actor, or the animator artist?

always the creator when given the choice, unless it is a 100% synonymous voice for the character like say a Homer Simpson level of "there is only one option" type of thing. i read the posts here like the one above about people getting 20 different characters all signed by the same voice actor and i just scratch my head as to why even bother, Anime especially feels like there are only 6 working VO folks in the industry and they just voice every other character with each other to the point where i rarely associate them with any 1 specific role.

If I ever got a legend like Phil Lamar though, I'd have to get a John Stewart and probably a Samurai Jack signed. He has done so many iconic characters though. Same with Mark Hamill. Id have to get a Luke and a Joker.

i think it depends on the show. sometimes getting the original voice actor is really difficult, and original animator even harder. i mean if difficulty wasn't an option i would opt for an animator autograph with a drawing on the side.

If I ever get another pop signed, it will be after i get it graded. I won the back to the future Marty Grail and the box was mint. I went to LA Comiccon to get Micheal j foxs Autograph. The security wouldnt let any protection stay on the pop lick bubble wrap or foam. It then got passed down through 7 security guards and through that car wash process it got scrached , cut, ect and to top it off the brand new marker i gave them to use wasnt used and the marker they used was faded. . After getting it Graded it came back a 8.5. This was going to be my wholly grail, oh well.

I love getting signatures on the boxes of my pops but there's always that risk factor when they grip the box pretty strongly and make dents in the box itself...this has unfortunately happened a lot more times than I'd like.

Do you think them signing the box without the pop would help? Just an idea.

I’ve seen people bring folded pop boxes taped to cardboard or clipboards.

Congratulations !!! the marker color looks great with the color palette of the box and pop

Thanks! I love this brand of marker (Molotow) because their colors are very strong and the paint flows really well. This is the 2 mm thickness i think. I’ll edit when I doublecheck. Also they are refillable. I’m glad the color worked well, but it was supposed to be more of a gold and it just lacks any of that luster. Either way, super happy with it!

I like getting autos from the people I meet. Not a fan of buying an auto, if I wasn’t the one to get it.
