Help with POP Display

Postby missbantz » Wed Jan 04, 2012 5:26 pm

Hi all! I've reached the over 40 mark in collecting Pop and have run out of space for the time being. I prefer to display my Pops outside of the box, but I find myself having a difficult time trying to display all of them. I have no room for bookcases (I already have 2 filled with books/movies/misc) I am considering floating shelves. I picked up 2 at Target yesterday, but have not assembled them yet.
My question for you all being, how do you display your Pops, and are there any easier display options that I could go with?

I actually got the floating shelves from Target, I think I spent $10 each. I have my pop! displayed out of the box so I can fit more than 5 figures on 1 shelf.

All my display cases came from IKEA a while back, but other than the Billy bookcases with added glass doors and glass shelves, they discontinued the lines a while ago. You may have to make some decisions, too - books/movies/misc, or Funko. I've packed up many of books for Funko. Besides, if i'm not learned enough by now, I'll never be. :D

Or the Crazy Canadian Mattress topper method.

Good luck :cat:

Thanks for the tips guys (and girls). I think the floating shelves are going to work best. I found out I can fit about 9 Pops per shelf. I might display them high, in a connecting circle. I just need a quick and quirky fix for the time being, especially with Disney 3 coming out soon. (I bought a smaller shelf just for Ariel and Ursula)

Be careful buying the Target floating shelves! Make sure you look at the pre drilled holes in the back and make sure the metal piece is over the hole. Some times they will be off, and its impossible to fit the screw head into the hole... that just sounds dirty... haha

70ft of free nice looking shelf space lol

Here's an Idea that makes sense...Take the books off the shelf and put them in storage. Your gonna need a lot of room for all your new FUNKO POP's. lol

If you are displaying out of the box you can always use spice racks. You can usually find a nice tiered one that is not too expensive. I used to have a couple of 3 tiered racks which I then put on shelves. Saved quite a bit of room, but I have not displayed that way in years.

You'll spend too much money buying those shelves and none of them ever fit your Funko perfectly. If you want to try your hand at building one, it's not that difficult. All you need is the right tools. Once I purchased a compound miter saw, everything changed. Now when I need new shelving, I just buy some wood and screws at the Home Depot, measure and build it. My only problem is space because my toy room is only so big. :-)

I just bought my first saw this weekend with that as my intention. If I get good enough, maybe I'll actually build a toy room and stop using the front porch.

Glad I'm not the only one with a blue painted walls. But I had to use blue to darken the room cuz of the reflection off the plazma TV.

I'm in LOVE with your display! I was thinking of pulling mine out of the box and having them in front of it (so I can keep the art around) and I'm glad to see they'll look good!
