The Penguin

Postby Choche » Mon Feb 27, 2012 12:29 am

I've been reading about The Penguin being a rare find in stores, and being overpriced online, so I would like to ask...

Are you talking about the Chase one or the regular one?

The place where I've been getting my Funkos happens to have a regular one, with a couple of black spots on its face (they display them out of their box there -_-) that, truth be told, are kinda notorious (though they don't cover that much of its face) and I'm not sure if the can be removed with some liquid or something.

Should I buy it? I know it has its flaws, but since finding good Funkos anywhere around these parts is kinda hard and it is a rare catch, I'm really considering going for it and have a little to show off in my small collection.

The penguin chase is extremely rare to find in the wild... I think the Penguin regular is starting to become more difficult, though no word if it is retired?

If you're handy with a brush, you could repaint it. Though I would only recommend that if you have a good craft/comic store with people who can better guide you on what Acrylic paint to buy to match the model.

Depending on te what exactly the blotches are, I have you the Mr Clean magic erasers on several on my scuffed vinyls and works great, of course use at your own risk. But I have never had a problem using them.

Maybe ask around the board on the sales & trade? I have one on its way from a board member and just had to pay the shipping.:) Never seen one in person, very excited.

I was thinking about repainting it myself, actually, since the spots are in a plain zone of its face, not near an eye or the nose, so I pretty much can't screw it up. Is there any acrylic paint brand you would recommend?

I would, but shipping to Mexico may make it a little more expensive than actually buying it here, in case I end up not choosing buying it from the store I talk about, or if it gets gone by the time I visit them again, I'll make sure to look it up in that board. Thanks :D
