Ilovefunko wrote:So ya, I’m not having any luck in receiving any Funko chases. I buy most of my Funkos online and have never been mailed a chase. I probably own 30 Funkos with chase variants. How is it possible if my odds are 1 in 6 to never receive a chase. I’ve ordered from Amazon, fye, hot topic, ee with no luck. I’m starting to get discouraged and thinking I’m making some kind of rookie mistake, so let me in on the secret. What online retailer can I order from and have a true 1 and six chance of getting a chase? :dontknow:

I usually go with online ordering either buy 6 keep common and chase trade or sell the rest, or from a preorder site that has guaranteed chase which costs not much more than retail.

Agreed. Was at a HT yesterday, not for chases and there were several people waiting for store to open. They are super aggressive and didn't even give others waiting an opportunity to buy one. Two guys grabbed them all.

My advice is to make friends with an employee somewhere. The problem is there’s a lot of turnaround at those stores.

Definitely luck of the draw with the online orders. I've had better success thru Amazon than taking my chances at a store where there's a wait.

I was going to say check with your local Gamestop’s and thinkgeek. Mine gives all preorders first dibs on chase pops then out the others out on the shelf. But sometimes even they only get 1 or none in. Luck is the game

I find it easier to get chases at hot topic and boxlunch. Just follow them on Instagram and they usually post the items they get in. Target just find out which day they get shipments and remember the dpci(someone usually post the number). Fye it varies by location but I find it easier to find chases at night(when my local one stocks) some stock earlier. Amazon you have a chance at a chase but make sure it’s sold by amazon and not third party

I've been seeing more chases in the wild lately. I've found them at Target, Wal-Mart, FYE, Hot Topic, Box Lunch, and TRU. I've left quite a few of them because I didn't want them. I've never found one at a GameStop and it has been a few years since I found one at a Barnes and Noble. I've had the best success on the way home from work (between 4-5 PM).

I hate this. I would love for there to be a fair lottery so that it is random who gets the Chase's.

My Hot Topic actually did something like a lottery once. There was a group of people waiting for the shipment, so they had us all line up. Each person in line got to pick a random box to open, and if there was a chase in it you got to purchase it.

This was also the last time they opened boxes in the middle of the day. Now they just restock at close.

It's a pain and for the retailer probably no value add but for me I like to see a process where everyone gets a chance. Not looking forward to ghost chairs like for some other line ups

When I first started collecting it was so much easier to get chases. I ordered from Amazon and got a Robin chase. A couple times I could walk into a store and get a chase. Those times are long gone even with a 1 in 6 shot on chases. Too many collectors now camping out social media and stores to get them.

That is very true. When the Toys R Us Geoffrey came out there were people there looking for another hot toy that they didn’t have and found out what everyone else was there for and bought two of them.

With Hot Topic you usually have to order 6 to get a chase. Since they say 1 in 6 they normally send one

Again this is not guaranteed because I've ordered 6 before and still got all commons :(

Definitely make friends with local stores, make trades or buy them coffee. try to find a local collectors store that may or may not sell them as bundles?

*I own a store and we sell bundles for $35 for a chase and the common (or any common that had a chase), this way we can reserve them and order as many as customers want. Everyone here loves it.

I've had a lot of luck going around 12-1pm. This gives stores enough time to put out the product they received that day and it's after the morning people stoping by and checking for Chases.

I’m surprised with how many people find chases later in the day. With the way Hot Topic and Box Lunch post on social I always thought we’d gotten to the point you have to go first thing in the morning. I’m glad to see that may not be the case

I went to pick something up and as I was checking out I happened to see a random stand with Pops. It's easy to spot a chase sticker among commons.

A lot of the tips have been already said.

Online: Buy direct from companies only (like HT, BL, FYE, Amazon) and buy bulk if you can. Warehouses usually pack in order if you buy multiples. Funko boxes usually pack in threes... If there's a 1-in-6 chance and you order 3, there's theoretically a 50/50 chance you could get the 3 pack with the chase packed in your order. Consider doing pre-order bundles (with chase) if you really don't want to hunt it or test your luck. There's a lot of good companies that do pre-orders.

In-Store: Make friends. Find out stocking times. Be nice. Network. Follow social media. Gamestop will sometimes put aside chases for pre-orders also so check your local store policies.

I wish I had time to wait for store opening but just don't.
