Im in desperate need of more doctor who pops. But yeah ratings and better weeknight shows are killing the DC TV series right now. Flash seems to hold strong but Arrow, SuperGirl and LOT have seemed to die off in view ship really

But Doctor Who Pops just don't sell, for the same reason most likely because Doctor Who ratings are basically in the toilet. Maybe if all of these programs want to sell more product, they should make better shows

The ratings aren’t as bad as you would think considering the UK doesn’t heavily use the US ratings as critically as their own. But pop wise I agree even though they have had some great designs it doesn’t appeal to a wide audience in the US. Sales for the UK are fairly popular I would guess though but on sheer numbers it’s sad

One bad season which to be fair was the weakest since its return. Also doesn’t help that more and more people can watch episodes anytime versus air time which plenty of shows in the US have issue with viewer wise. I’ve enjoyed Capaldi as the doctor and I don’t think series 10 was on him more or less the actual stories he was given. Series 11 will really be a turning point for them and whether the show can continue based off of the sheer fact that Jodie Is the Doctor and a lot of people want to see the huge difference. Moffat leaving is also a factor. I’m hoping for a RTD and Eccleston feel and hopefully a revitalization for the series.

I backed up what I said, sorry. Doctor Who ratings are in the toilet and thus, toys based on the show are probably not selling well. The same is going for a lot of CW shows, which also explains the lack of DC TV Pops. Trying to make excuses for things doesn't address the reality of them, sorry. Moffat left because his Who sucked. I'm of the opinion that Davies' Who sucked too, just not as bad. And with the BBC having a strong political bias these days, I'm sure there is a lot of pressure to have a particular political bent to the series, which just isn't helping. I want them to get back to the good old Doctor Who, just like I want Flash and Arrow and other shows to get back to the good old shows we fell in love with in the first season. Unfortunately, particularly on the CW, they are catering to a particular audience who probably isn't the same audience who is buying Pops. Maybe if they improved the shows and tried to aim them at a more general audience, their ratings would improve, the visibility of the characters would improve and maybe, just maybe, more people would be interested in buying character-related merchandise. Funko isn't insane. They can't make things that don't sell. That's how business works.

Doctor Who Series 1, which apparently sold very well, came out in 2015, at which point the viewership had already steeply declined. The decline between the 2015 season and the most recent 2017 season was relatively small. I'd suggest that a sizable portion of the fanbase, at least the crowd that Hot Topic was catering to, was invented in the "romantic" Doctors Ten and Eleven, and that the more hardcore Doctor Who fans who want everything is much smaller. I seriously sat next to someone explaining Doctor Who to his friend, and if going by his explanation, the show was about Rose being in love with the Doctor.

Since Funko acquired Underground Toys, who was a major Doctor Who licensee, it seems the line is less in danger than it was after Wave 2.

Just finished watching the first season on Netflix. This is a really good tv series. Can't wait to get the time to get all caught up.
